The Hobbit Hole III - Journey to the Cross-roads!

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

To: ksen
Hi, ksen, it is nice to be back...looking forward to meeting you and Ruthy + spouses in a few days.

As a frequent Best Buy shopper (can you hear my checkbook wincing?) I can say, no, they won't allow a return on an opened game. Just an exchange for the same game. And nope, they don't have that game for the Playstation, only the Playstation 2.
To: 2Jedismom
HA! - read the rest of the interview! - Her shtick is the jerk reporter...

It's a schtick?
Oh.
To: HairOfTheDog
She was pretty funny. You did great in the interview btw!

OK, alright. Enough is enough.
I was chastened by Corin when I first arrived at the Hole and I took it in stride. He and I are best buds now (right, Corin?)
Just as in any thread in FR, you have to have thick skin and a good attitude to get by. The Elf/Dwarf wars will continue, but we all have to give each other a little room to play around yet not take it too far. We are like siblings in a lot of respects, so even though we have something in common, we are certain to have personality conflicts now and again.
You all know I align myself with the Dwarves in the "battle", my keywords attest to that. But yesterday Corin mentioned that we should ease up on the keywords and I did. Does he sometimes come off a little harsh - certainly, just as John Farson did once. But so what?
I know we all care about each other deeply, and there is no reason why we can't try to adjust to each other's moods and temperment when necessary. I fully expect to get moody sometimes and I fully expect to be given thoughts by those that love me when I do - and vice versa.
That said, let's all kiss and make up. Today is not the day for infighting.

Yes, she plays the jerk reporter, and I get to sound charming. Thats the schtick. I think she did as good a job of making me sound interesting as can be done.
To: Dawntreader
*sigh* I thought as much.
Oh well, I'll have to try to get by the best I can with what I've got.
Maybe we can sell the PC we just bought and get a Dell super-dee-duper professional gamer PC. :)

Hair, I forgot to tell you, my nephew, who recently married a girl from the Australian Outback, went with his new wife to his in laws cattle farm there for Christmas.
He said the terrain on the place was so rugged that the family works the cattle from horse back. He said it was awesome watching the father and 2 sons roaring up and down steep inclines in huge clouds of dust, and with the dogs helping, etc, as they drove the herds.
They wouldn't let him have a horse, tho, since he doesn't ride, but gave him a 4 wheeler to tag along and help with.
To: HairOfTheDog
I liked what you said. They should have just let you talked!!

Hey, this is wonderful. Congrats!!
To: RMDupree
The Elf/Dwarf wars will continueReally? Is it required? :~D
Yesterday I was completely at the end of my humor with the elf bashing. I had the good fortune to blow my top in the chat room, where there is no permanent evidence that I lost my temper!
