Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

So we think it is a potassium problem Definately. Electrolyte imbalance causes most of those. Corin's advice to drink water and eat a banana is right on. Gatorade can get the job done, too, but it's not as healthy. You can also look at vitamin supplements or replacing your regular salt (mostly sodium) with sea salt which has a variety of useful minerals such as potassium, calcium, magnesium and so on.

Now, are you supposed to eat the kim chee or wear it to keep the skeeters away?
To: RosieCotton
sorry Rosie... meant to ping you to 44,338 ... more coffee...
you could do all those things simultaneously with this ...

I use "lite salt", not really because I'm worried about sodium, but because it's high in potassium. Probably not as good for you as sea salt, though.
Do you have one of those salt grinders, or is the sea salt you get fairly fine?
To: Lil'freeper
Mornin'. Sun is shining here, but that's sposed to change.
Weathernerd said this morning showers and storms for the next seven days. I am at the point of self medication...

What a pain. Hope you can get it taken care of and on the road to Grama's soon. (don't talk to any wolves)

Do you think a hail stone could have hit the side of the house hard enough to jar that loose? Insurance guy will prolly say "Hail no."

Weathernerd said this morning showers and storms for the next seven days. same here... looks like I'll be workin' in the rain...

Electrolyte imbalance causes most of those... cut back on the coffee... Oh g'nad, that is hard advice! Very hard! - You might as well advise me to cut off one of my legs!

Corin's right. I just wanted to hear that again...

Do you have one of those salt grinders, or is the sea salt you get fairly fine? Both actually. The salt mill is mostly for show, 'cuz the salt is so pretty. The whole family is so thoroughly addicted to it now that commercail salt tastes harsh and 'chemical' *gag*. My father uses the potassium salt you describe but I think it's got too much of a garrish edge to it. Sea salt is nice and mellow.
