The Hobbit Hole III - Journey to the Cross-roads!

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

Hmm... raw garlic at work... hmmm, might be a good idea. ...and walk around all day saying "In Hartford, hurricanes hardly happen."
or however that line goes.

"The rain in Spain stays mainly in the plain."
Was thinking of that movie the other day while watching the horse race.

The ants in france stay mainly on the plants.

I figger it's because we try to make them "adults" at 12 and when they're 22 and moved out of the house, they realized how much they missed being 12. It bothers me that kids don't spend much time just "playing" anymore. All they do is for some function or learning experience. Something wrong with that in my book. Nothing like a sandbox. Or a swimmin' hole. People's lawns are are whole and nice looking because kids aren't making home baseball diamonds and football fields. just one of my passing opinions. FWIW

Muggle-baiting isn't as fun tonight as it usually is. Should we drop a few spells on them?

I will probably just stay inside and play pool. I'll mix the drinks...I'm not too good at pool. But if I mix the drinks well enough, no one will notice.

Better watch that. I might just go to the WalMart and photograph somebody really scary to post. That's why we always feel better about ourselves when we go to the water park at King's Dominion. There is always someone there who looks worse than we do...

Was thinking of that movie the other day while watching the horse race.LOL! I almost shouted "Move your bloomin' arse!" at the TV.

This is going to sound funny, but Steve buried the kids in the flower bed Saturday! They coudn't believe it. He dug a hole and that sat down and he buried them up to their necks! Ha!
That evening Matthew actually said he was looking forward to going to bed, because he'd played so hard all day he was exhausted. He went to bed and we didn't hear a peep out of either of them. They sacked out!
A good breakfast, a cool sandwich and drink for lunch and a nice warm supper followed with ice cream outside after a day of play...what a life these kids have!! It's not the life I had, but it's not too shabby!

Actually...
My mother did! She was rooting for Funny Cide and decided it was ok since it was a literary allusion.

Look for bunny nests and such! I always like to look around for wildlife stirred up when someone brushhogs.

Speaking of baseball... the University of Texas Longhorns are going back to the College World Series!
Woo-Hoo!
Good evening!

I don't want to know what gets disturbed, I am still fretting about the baby bird!
The rabbit warren is in the trees at the edge.... I don't think any of their holes are in the pasture, if they were, I would have to move them. Too dangerous for the horses.
