The Hobbit Hole III - Journey to the Cross-roads!

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

I keep looking for open hermit jobs....not having much luck.
To: Overtaxed
I've got a video card that claims to do that. Maybe I should try to get it working. :) I have never tried to do stuff like that. Although I know we have all the software to do that and much more at the school.
Heck I couldn't even get whatever Gollum video that was that ya'll were all talking about the other day to download!

GEES that looks stupid. I'm watching the race. Your grama eating raw garlic cloves is very healthy. I will be watching the race mostly now. If they'll ever get it on again.

I keep looking for open hermit jobs....not having much luck. Sorry. But, if I find one I'm not forwarding it on to you. I will snatch it up in a heartbeat.
Although, if they're is a vacancy in the next hermit area I will certainly send your name to the top of the list.
If you and I were next door hermits would that make it a Middle Earth Hermitage? **groans**

LOL! I knew what you meant.
The funny thing is... my great-grandmother was 90+ years old and some of the relatives were getting after her for drinking so much black coffee. "It's not good for you!"

Back to the nutritional discussion. I still had all my grandparents, 6 of the great grandparents and 2 of the great-great grands when I was born. Some of 'em I didn't know well but Grama's mother I did. That's who I was referencing last night about learning alot about how to eat. Those people lived forever compared to my friend's families and according to today's standards their food intake was horrendous. It included quite a bit of caffeinated drinks and alcohol as well. But, my great-grandma was insistant that things be as fresh as possible. That included meats and grains. Lived to be 96. Ate and drank all the "wrong" stuff though.

Maybe I should check out lighthouse keeper positions. But then that would put me on the coast during hurricane season. And there would be even less people around with the hurricane coming in.
I don't know about this job. Can I be a lighthouse keeper?

Problem with being on the coast during hurricane season is that I might wake up in the middle of the Atlantic.
Probable a wait for that job....and you have to work 3rd shift.
To: g'nad
g'nad; just a bit of Ozark humor (or is it?). Fine looking sidearm, you going with Pachmyar (sp?) grips on it? I really liked the way they fit on mine.
To: Wneighbor
according to today's standards their food intake was horrendous. Maybe I should start making lard biscuits.

Garlic doesn't keep off witches. Garlic keeps off vampiresAhhhh yes.... you're right. I was confused.... Well, least the vampires won't get me.
To: HairOfTheDog
Hair; nice looking contemplative area, the chair seems to fit.
Earlier you were mentioning horse-type movies, we saw one from Australia, called Pharr Lap or Phar Lapp. Training and horse-racing. Excellent film, saw it in the 80's or so. Since 'Raising Arizona' has bonded (so to speak) with your VCR, and I doubt it is on dvd-it maybe something to file away.
To: HairOfTheDog
It's broad daylight. Any vampires who can take that will think garlic's a nice little garnish for their meal.

I read the book Phar Lap as a kid! - I will look for it on DVD!
The 'contemplative area' is all done... Having a break for a min then I will take a couple pics. It looks a little chopped up now, but it has a month for the grasses and herby things to recover, and hopefully they will. gonna rake some of the cut brambles out of there, but not today.
To: Overtaxed
I could work 3rd shift to be a hermit.
