Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

Speaking for myself, it's the movie elves that got me started elf-bashing. Elrond with his "men are weak" stuff and his arrogance. He's a fine one to talk about the "dwarves care not" for the trouble of others when he's hauling his butt to Valinor himself. Just makes me want to smack him upside his scowling head. Yeah. What she said.
And let's face it folks, the dwarf bashers have been a lot more cruel lately. After all, they've been talking about the stature of the dwarves, not something easily changed.
What bothers us about the movie elves are their lifestyle choices and the lack of fiber in their diet.

Your supper! MMMmmm. I put on a lot of poundage having 2 weeks of Christmas at my Grama's house. I had an apple and a protien shake. BLAH
And BTW, I made bread for all of ya'll and invited you to have some earlier. Nobody said anything about wanting any. You know, Ruthie is having her birthday dinner so she's not going to be here giving you anything till she's through with her fillet. Just because I'm new around here and have elf-tendancies doesn't mean you're going to get poisoned.
Better have some, otherwise, only my daughter gets it whiles it hot. Tomorrow morning students will get the leftovers.

He did a really really good job in choosing the elves themselves. He just really needed to get inside my head and see how much happier and more loveable they really are.
