The Hobbit Hole III - Journey to the Cross-roads!

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

The cleaning stuff should've stacked the pictures the width of your page...sorry. I had the Morg Troll post a picture to me yesterday tryin' to be cute. Finally got it off my comments page.
My s-i-l just called and said my b-i-l would be here in under an hour (we're going to move some furniture). So, based on previous experience, I should start getting my shoes on....around 4:00...

Wide comments pages are not the worst thing that can happen.

So, based on previous experience, I should start getting my shoes on....around 4:00... Yeah, I seem to remember something about the last time you and b-i-l had plans. Kick back, relax, take a nap.

Not a bad. I just was kind of weirded out - didn't know if I'd inadvertantly changed a setting or what. No big deal.

Morning all! Just got back from my errands. I like shopping early- there's fewer people to irritate me. And is it raining like cats and dogs! There are flood warnings everywhere. I'm taking a break for the moment and then I've got to start baking. Need to put some pre-cooked food in the fridge for my poor hubby who'll be on his own next weekend. I've got a chance to go home to AZ to see my grandmother and family. She's 96 and in excellent health but steadily fading. We've been close all my life and I feel an urgent need to visit her soon. And I can't wait for the sunshine! I plan on drinking up 109 F for three days to drive the chill from all this rain from my bones.

Finally got it off my comments page
How do you do that? Really wish I knew.
To: Wneighbor
Will do. :)
To: Wneighbor; HairOfTheDog

Sends us a nasty freepmail they did. Not posts to the dwarf no more...

Hi Corin. I took my brothers to the library and then Borders to check on the plans for Harry Potter release date. Their plans have changed - they're having a party after all. Which is really going to be cool. I've already promised to take at least the oldest five there. I think we'll leave the little guy home.

The Mrs. and I will do you a favor and not visit AZ while you are there.
No joke, when I was travelling doing events, we took three trips there (two to Phoenix/Scottsdale, one to Tuscon). We'd arrive and be told "we only get 3-4 days of rain per year." We'd stay for 3-4 days...in the rain.
Glad you get to go see your grandmother. Visits like that are important.

How do you do that? It's still there. Just moved to the next page. Funny thing was, she had that post pulled from the thread, but it stayed on my comments page.
We just need to talk lots and get the cleaning supplies "put away."

Thanks for staying put. I really dislike the rain nowadays.
Oh, and I'm gonna go to my favorite restraunt of all time: "L&B's"- a little family-owned mexican food joint. The proprieters are always there to say hola (Luis and Berta...hence L&B's) and it is absolutely the best Sonoran cookin' ever. Plates the size of most placemats, sarapes under plexiglass as tablecloths. Tortillas made from scratch, homemade salsa made that morning with tomatillos from Berta's garden no less! *sigh* The southwest is too much in my blood.
To: Lil'freeper
I have now made myself very hungry. Gonna go scare up some eats...
To: Corin Stormhands
Too bad!
We're thinking of dressing up if we can get the costumes in time. And my brother wants to persuade our acquantance with the motorcycle to roar up to Borders, dressed as Sirius Black ;)
He is just a little like Sirius, actually. I've got a cape I wear to church in the winter that would work well for a costume myself.
I would say I feel like a kid for this, except I know so many adults doing the same thing.
