The Hobbit Hole III - Journey to the Cross-roads!

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

I'd check with SIL to get a read on the stuff him and boys like, but given a limited supply and lack of options, a fella would likely make do with darn near anything that would burn. You know, if there are more guys than him smoking a pipe then if I just got a little variety they could each choose their own and probably everybody could find something they like.
Now, it wouldn't surprise me if the whole group or at least a large part of it had grabbed onto the pipe notion? Does that seem right to you?

You can try it.... they are cheap. We may do that. Of course for the last two months it's been too wet for him to stay out.

Congrats on the good interview, even though it didn't turn out to be what you were hoping. By the way, the song "I Hope That Something Better Comes Along" just came up on my mp3 shuffle. Must be a sign!

I'm sorry the trip to Boise didn't turn out better. If it's any consolation (probably not...) I see this sort of thing a lot in the hi-tech realm: companies wanting an all-in-one tech, but offering a pay level suitable for someone familiar with only one field. Very disheartening. It's one of the reasons I've been concentrating again on my home-based business.
Hmm... have you thought about starting your own consulting business?
To: Overtaxed
ahhh. I missed out on the seedcake.
But, honestly I've got a recipe that I think pretty much fills the bill for Beorn's honeycake. It's that good.

Just got back from picking up the car. Had to go out for a drink with my friend to cheer up a little after that.

Undoubtedly! A pint is good after writing such a check!
Welcome back! Are you going to cut your own hair, or what? ;~D
To: Corin Stormhands
One of my favorite movies! Don't have it on DVD yet, though.

Should you take over some snacks? Maybe, but I'm not that good of a neighbor. I like the neighbor's on the west side and the across the street west side. And across the street 2 houses to the east. The rest of the neighbors need to move elsewhere, have their homes demolished and provide me with a more county-like landscape.

Now what do I do?I'm watching the Spurs and the Nets play in the NBA finals. Rose is reading the history of the U.S.'s quasi-war with France to me, but I'm not really listening too closely.
To: ecurbh
Don't have it on DVD yet, though. I have the soundtrack on vinyl...

No. I'm taking "The Sign" seriously. I think if I try to cut it, something else will break.
Got a freebie webcam today too. I'll have to figure out how to get a pic and post it.
To: Corin Stormhands; g'nad
No, you're right. g'nad does the homebrew. Good, bet we can even get the skinny of any attempts to homebrew in the field from g'nad then? Reckon there's a good story there?
