Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

You have my axe.

Well, I wondered when you said "near Houston." I wasn't going to specify you on the thread but since you did.... LOL She is so very sweet (unlike me) and has been my special prayer partner for 11 years now. We were in the same ministry for a long time and we saw each other a couple of times a month. Over the years we see each other less and less, but we still exchange prayer needs on a daily basis. It's nice. I think we pray for each other's kids just like we do our own. :-)

Speaking from experience.

Yoda appeared in person to accept his award (best fight) Yoda got an award for his fight with Saruman? That scene still makes me laugh...

That place was HOPPIN' after that .. and such a shame that it had to come to that to get something done. But isn't that the way everything is now a days. I am so tired of fighting to get people/businsesses to DO what they say they will do.
I recently had to get glasses, bifocals, $200. Had them home for less then a week and my dog chewed them up, only the front of the frames was savable. Took them in, did not excpect any favors, was ready to pay right then. The nuse said I would pay when I picked them up.
As I was getting on the elevator the Doc. was getting off. He asked if there was a problem with the new glasses, I laughed explain what happened. He said "don't worry about it, we will take care of it." I said no, that I was more then willing to pay. He said NO. I said Well thanks.
When the nurse called to say they were ready to pick up, I asked her if the doc had said anything to them about that. She said no, he said things like that all the time, but poor dear, he just did not understand warranties. I thought that was a bit disrespectful of the man that made this womans job possible.
Anyway I took a check to pay, but when they told me what it would cost, I got out the check, but told them this was bad business and they either needed to shut the doc. up or live up to what he said they would do. The stuttered around, said he had told them he had told me that, said they were sorry, but I had to pay. I said fine I would pay, but if they were not going to tell the doc. about the problem he caused, I wanted too. They said I did not have to pay. I said thanks and asked why I had to act this way to get them to do what the doc. said. They never answered.
Things like that hack me off. Their are probably few people who actually would have said anything, just paid and went on. But darn it. I felt like a scum bag, like I was asking for a hand out, which I wasn't. But that nurse calling the doc. "poor dear" rubbed me wrong. I thought the doc. might like to know what his help said about him.
I did send them $20 of gift certificates from Mazzios as a thank you for their "honesty." LOL hope it made them think. Becky

Okay, so cut the bangs. And leave the rest. Make yourself look like Frodo! After all, he is the hero! The ring-bearer. He HAS the precious.

I was planning to grow it to Aragorn length... But, unlike Aragorn, you will wash it occasionally...won't you?

Um, try here:
http://www.paddockclub.co.kr/shoppingmall I went and looked in Google images under "shoes" and picked out ones I thought WN would like. Right-click on the pic and select properties. That will tell you the website the pic came from.

No, there are not a lot of cars here like that. Most people get them fixed I think. I have never had hail damage before! Lots of times when the dings are small people hold a piece of dry ice over the ding and it will contract the metal and pull the ding out. Not always, but if they are small and not creased it will. These I have now are large. I don't particularly care..... but, I've paid for vehicle insurance for like 25 years now and never filed a claim for anything. So, maybe it might be time.

good to know ... Very good to know. I should have thought of that the day it was happening but you just don't function right in all conditions. My attorney is one of my best friends and he has "contacted" people for me before just because we are friends. It seems like just a little phone call or letter from him does things that all actions I take can never do. I have seriously thought of studying for that profession. And just taking the hit to my reputation. LOL

I think I told you my story on this, but...
My car was damaged by hail a few years ago. They aren't HUGE dings, but you do notice them if you view the roof at an angle. I took the insurance money and used it to pay off much of what I owed on it...
If the damage is strictly cosmetic, you might be able to use the money for something fun!

But, unlike Aragorn, you will wash it occasionally...won't you? What's this "wash" word I keep hearing?
To: Wneighbor
You're in my prayers, Wn. But you knew that. ;-)
To: ksen
awwww. ksen.... you are SO thoughtful!!! Something for me to wear when I leave the realm! Thank you so much.
Hey, ya'll know something kind of cool? I haven't had to put shoes on now for 2 days. When I went to the post office yesterday I went right in shoeless. I keep a pair of sandals under the front seat of the pickup so they're there when I'm running around barefoot. But, I drove up to the post office door and there wasn't any sign like most buildings have nowdays that said shoes were required so I went right in barefoot. Nobody noticed. But, me.
However, I just want to make clear that the sandals under the front seat of the truck are VERY cute! (elf appropriate)

Yeah, I kind of like having it longer, as it is nice and curly. The main thing I need is to get the bangs out of my eyes.
More comfortable than Aragorn hair, which seems to have to be dirty to look right.

You're in my prayers, Wn. But you knew that. ;-) Yeah! And it makes my day lots and lots better!
