Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

Woo-hoo! My evening is going well...arrived home to find "Redwood" and the new Old Blind Dogs CD have arrived! Listening to Redwood now, and I'm loving it. A lot of really nice tunes. As I suspected, it's closer to their sound as I heard them in concert. Nice!
Also, I think I've mentioned that I really need to reseed my lawn, but don't have time or money. Well...the town has done some work just outside my house, and tore up the worse part of my lawn. I was worried about that - they parked the bulldozer right here for a few days, and that whole section was dirt. But they neatly reseeded all of it! Now I wish they'd had to tear up my WHOLE lawn, but hey, it's a start!
Just had a good dinner...made fresh tomato sauce with a big tomato, onion, some crushed red peppers and such, and had that over a thin pan fried steak. I don't want to know if that's healthy or low-carb or anything...it was good, in any case!

I had the 2nd real estate person here this afternoon. Didn't quote as high a price as the other person but said if it was priced right, it would probably sell in less than 60 days.
I don't want to move. Think I'll scope out interest rates.
In other news, I can't loosen the nuts holding the lawnmower blade.

I wasn't as thrilled with Riven as I was with Myst. the whole feel I got from Riven was something like "We did amazing things with Myst, but look at what we can do now!"
the story lacked some of the depth of Myst (which was one of the things I loved about it). was hoping it would further the story more than it actually did.
I hear tell that there's a 3rd part out, but can't remember what the name of it is....
don't matter though...this dinosaur of a 'puter that I have at home probably couldn't run it anyhow...
