Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

Some days I think the idea of going into space appeals to me because there would be very few people there.

are not just doing it because I asked if you wanted tooROFLOL!!!!! I couldn't believe it when you asked, because I was trying so hard to figure out a polite way of asking if we could do it for you!! Except I was thinking we (the boys and I) would do it, but with Lisa there and her wanting to do it, I was just as pleased she gets to. Like I say, she's a great friend and I often feel like I don't do enough for those that I really admire, like her...and so for me to introduce her to you and for her and her kids to have such a good time and then actually get to incubate some chicks just pleased me no end!!

Thanks for checking in g'nad!

Yes, that was me, playing "Mist Covered Mountain" on a Feadóg pennywhistle in the key of D.

Well you know when she gets done, if you want to do a batch you can.
Ok then, tomorrow at 12:00 at Bueno?

It's a moot! Chicken Burrito Moot '03!!

Okay, I can look out for you. You look out for me and I don't think I'd mind a man of Gondor or a man of Rohan. Just in case you run into one of them my age.

That was very sweet on the ears:)
Is a whistle anything close to a recorder. A friend of mines daughter played the recorder, I had never heard of one before, but it look and sounded similar to that.

Few people understand the psychology
of dealing with a Highway Traffic
Cop. Your normal speeder will
panic and immediately pull over to
the side. This is wrong.
It arouses contempt in the cop heart.

OK what did I say wrong...
Becky

The whistle is easier to play than a recorder, and it only plays in one key...if you want a higher key, you get a smaller whistle, or a lower key, you get a bigger whistle. Recorders can play more than one key, I believe.
But the biggest difference between a recorder and a whistle is that whistles are cool.

Heh..... gonna trip out the thread again with me g'nad?
There he goes. One of God's own prototypes. Some kind of high powered mutant never even considered for mass production. Too weird to live, and too rare to die.
To: PayNoAttentionManBehindCurtain
LOL!! I usually make fun of people that play recorders...not very nice of me, but usually the people I make fun of are just hypothetical people anyway...
To: Wneighbor
Looks yummy W!
To: Wneighbor
Oh, my goodness! That looks GREAT!
To: 2Jedismom
Oh yeah, I think so too:)
I had never heard or seen either one till I saw and heard her playing it one day.
I know she had two of them, I can't remember what the deal was but one was harder to play then the other.

I'm bushed... gonna sit in the jacuzzi and drink some bourbon...
Retirement sounds good g'nad. I like working hard. And then relaxing. Sounds like you've started off quite nicely.
