The Hobbit Hole III - Journey to the Cross-roads!

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

Now you need to drink Throat Soother's Tea. It will help. I think you should watch a movie. A movie and a good cup of tea in the rain???? Sounds pretty good to me.

Well, I went and checked on that puppy at the DOC office, and it was quite obviously a little brindle pit bull puppy. She played dumb like she didn't know what kind it was, but I think my friend knew darn well (it was so obvious!) and lied to me in the hopes that the cuteness of the scamp would sway me! - Scoundrel!
But.... the girlfriend did come and claim the pup while I was there, so their was no legal basis for not giving it to her. The guy will probably only be in jail a week, it was a failed drug test. Another pit bull in the hands of a thug. I would have taken it to a shelter to prevent that, but I had no standing at all.
sigh.....

Nice suggestions... I don't really like tea, though, and my head hurts. I need quiet. I think I shall sit placidly in front of my computer for a few hours.

I would have taken the pit bull. I know you don't like them. But, I'm not a thug. And I'd have loved it and made it think it was my baby and all would have been safe. He would have liked it here. if he liked eggses.

The tea wasn't necesarily for your tastebuds. It was for the sore throat and other symptoms you may have. But, if you need the peace and quiet of a CRT then here we are.

I would have taken it, at least to find it a better chance somewhere... but the girlfriend had the right to claim it with his other property, so there wasn't much we could do.

I took some honey-something throat syrup that helps, mostly, and the ice cream was good. Am appreciative of your being here!

No, you're right about that totally. I keep wavering between finding myself another pup - it would be really hard with Smeagol and all her psychosis - and thinking I need to just be pet-less someday. Smeagol doesn't help. If she were a two-legged person I'm afraid I'd have to tell her to grow up and get over it because nobody likes living with a drama queen. - Well, actually, I have told her that. and she's not a 2 legged person.

... who's around tonight? I'm here now. Maybe later. I plan to go workout here shortly. (I'm being a bad father leaving my sons in the care of their aunt and grandmother...no wait, my wife is the bad parent 'cause she's a work...) Anyway, I may come home and go straight to bed. That way I won't think about food...
To: JenB

Ice cream made with Splenda is good, too - 8 carbs a serving and tastes like the real thing.

no - you're the bad parent because you're MAKING your wife go to work!! unless she's one of us ogre women who work because we made the decision that it was best for the family to do that. in that case she is the bad parent.
Do you think I got this all down now?
Well, I re-read that and it dawned on me. The worst case scenario - if you and your wife discussed this, then you are both in on the decision and that means you are both bad parents!!! :-) *grin*
how'm i doin'? am i learnin' the ropes?

I think I spent 2 hours in heavy battle. And now you mention food. Excuse me a moment, I learned last night that without kids living at home I am allowed to make a refrigerator run to get supper spontaneously! I'm going now.

Yes, a young male pit bull is probably not best paired with a drama queen dog with a vicious temper about personal space!
To: Wneighbor
how'm i doin'? am i learnin' the ropes? You must be doin' fine, 'cause I'm just as confused over here as I was over there...
To: Wneighbor; Corin Stormhands
no - you're the bad parent because you're MAKING your wife go to work!!Yeah...if you were a real man, you'd find a way to make more money! You loser!
Been spyin' on that thread...have I got it right? ;-)
To: RosieCotton
Eeeek. That thread is out of our league. (but not on the upper-side)
Can't we all just have a pint?
To: HairOfTheDog
Can't we all just have a pint? Certainly!
