Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

CD says it's all right if I bring Frodo to the meeting. Hehehe...

It's a dreary day here, and cool...I have the heat lamp on the chicks because of it.
Well, we're off to get a breakfast at McD's and then to the library. It's a new library...just opened up about 3 weeks ago.

Good morning!
WN, thanks for getting the breakfast taquitos up and running! I'll brew the coffee and get the bacon fried up. :)
g'nad - those pics are wonderful! Oh, and overall shorts would probably be the only kind of overalls you can find easily here in Miami. This is a shorts-and-shirt habitat down here. Heh!
Corin - Saw you over at the Trading Spaces thread finally. I'll be posting shortly.
2J and Becky - I was talking to my mom last night about the chickens and she waxed nostalgic for over an hour about the small farm in Cuba (before Castro took it away). I wish I had the money to move somewhere where I could let her raise some chickens and a goat or two. She seemed so happy just thinking about it. *sigh*
Anyway, you guys have got to see this costume that my co-worker up in New Jersey is purchasing. She plans to wear it to DragonCon in Atlanta (I believe it's in August). She's thrilled about since Brad Dourif will be there (at DragonCon). The costume will cost about one grand (total), but she considers it an "investment". She plans on putting it on a life size mannequin for display after wearing it.
Check it out!

Gees, I got over there and they were not open yet. I have a list of places to go but that was at the top of the list so I'll just start out again in an hour.

Hair, did that shrinkwrap thing work? The shrinkwrapping works but only for 2 to 3 hours. Longer if you don't drink anything. It won't help on baggy skin though. Or sagging. Just gets rid of a couple of inches here and there.
I'm hoping that you're going to give us photos of this.

I had a good friend years ago whose husband was a Sam's manager. They got a discount. Don't know if it's because of management or not but they did. No discount at WalMart though. AND they get their membership FREE!

I was suppose to go ride at Arrowhead today but it looks too much like rain for me. I got enough of riding in the rain the other day on my ride, at least for awhile:) We may try to go here after while if it doesn't actually rain.

It's actually chilly! Amazing for June.

I was laughing and joking with her last night about sneaking a chicken or two into our yard, but our neighbors are such busybodies (not to mention the HO Assoc here) it wouldn't last more than a week before trouble ensued.
She also wants a dairy goat for milk and butter. She still remembers how to tend them! LOL!
I'd have to relocate out of the city itself in order to have them, and that isn't cheap. But I am going to start planning to get it done within the next 5 years. I want my mom to have her goat and chickens!!!

Looks nice! They sell used books at the cafe, too?? Wow.

It's kinda hot and muggy here. It rained about 6. And now it's heating up after the rain. ugh.
I was reading the chicken thing you posted. Now, I want and egg-layer. I like fresh eggs.
Actually, what I really want, more than that is a little goat.

I have a little place where you could have goat and chickens. It's vacant and won't sell it seems. And it's only about 6 miles from the president's ranch.

Morning. I've forgotten how much you guys post 8-|
I thought I was getting over my cold and now I have a nasty, "ow that hurt" cough. I better recover by the 12th!! Any tips?
To: Wneighbor
When you get your chickens (it's just a matter of time), be sure and specify that you want two pullets at the feed store...that way, you (hopefully) will get two egg-layers. You gotta have two, because chickens are flock animals. Mine sleep side by side.

I'd love to move to Texas, but I'm afraid I can't. :(
I'd be much closer to everyone there though.
