Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

I know those panels are spendy, and make for a very nice fence!
He must be a pretty good stud to stay put with one hot wire! Very good-lookin' too.
To: Wneighbor
You know, you are WAY out of his league! Oh stop! I am at my best when I am trying to keep up.
To: RosieCotton
I don't recall sex, don't remember cussin'. Been a long time.
I turned it off the first couple times I tried to watch it because I don't like violence, but I finally got through it.

He's the greatest. He is in a hot wire mainly because he cribs really bad. I had to put a loop of wire over the top of every tee post. But other then that anyone can ride him. 2J wants to come ride with me sometime and he'll be the one I put her on.
The panels are nice, but they are very easily bent up by the horses, nothing as sturdy as pipe fencing. So they get pretty crooked looking with drives me crazy. Crooked or loose, baggy fence makes me crazy but there is no getting away from it with horses.

Have you been having the trouble lately of not being able to click right too a pic at York? - That you have to scroll through the whole album slide show to get to the one you want to post?

I turned it off the first couple times I tried to watch it because I don't like violence, but I finally got through it.I don't like prolonged violence (long gun fights and battle scenes drive me nuts...part of why I didn't like TTT as much as FOTR, all the story changes aside...)
But it doesn't usually keep me from watching a movie (though possibly with some fast forwarding). Other stuff might. I think I'd like to watch these 'cause they're classics at this point, but I get the feeling I should watch them before letting, say, my 14yo brother watch 'em with me.

To: HairOfTheDog
Yes! I have noticed that. It's a bald faced hassle.

Can I see them on your York page, or do you have to send them to me? Can you send them to the address I gave you? Told you I was computer illiterate:)

I think for their day they were more violent than most movies. Course, to some degree, they should be. The mob is not all pinstripe suits with carnations on the lapel.
But I would also guess that because of the time it was filmed in, there is not a lot of bad language. I don't remember the language standing out.
To: 2Jedismom
Yeah - I have been creating new albums because I didn't want to scroll through the old ones.
To: RosieCotton
I think what bothered me about the violence in the Godfather films, is that hired, business, killing is pretty cold-blooded.
To: PayNoAttentionManBehindCurtain
I sent an "invitation to view" the album to the address you gave me. It will tell you how to set up your own account. After you get that account set up, these pictures will be part of your new account and you can upload pictures (saved on your computer) into the new account. Tell me how it goes!

"The only part I don't like is with the horse head. "That part is disturbing and gross, but boy oh boy...what a way to send a message.
To: HairOfTheDog
Did you ever see "Scarface"? Whew. That was horrible.
To: 2Jedismom
I don't think so... I think I would have hid and changed the channel!

I think what bothered me about the violence in the Godfather films, is that hired, business, killing is pretty cold-blooded.Yeah...you're right. Didn't think about that aspect. Not like war. Very different sort of violence.
To: HairOfTheDog
I don't remember the language standing out. There was some cussing during heated arguments.
To: Dawntreader
what a way to send a message. He got the message alright!
