Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

I think you can post the link to the whole album even if folk don't have accounts, but do you know my account name and stuff?
To: Dawntreader
Far and Away...I actually liked that one! That was it. I didn't care for it. Dragged on and on and wasn't my cup of tea. I can never remember the name of it but that's it.

That's right! They'll have to make an account to view it, but it's a good account to have.
I'm snacking on some chicken (ha ha).

I will "share" this album with you.

Did you see Gone in 60 Seconds? Never heard of it. Fast cars. Classic old cars. Expensive Italian cars. Newer hardbody cars. Driving fast. Police chases. Jumping over a drawbridge going up. Noise of fast cars. All the things a wonderful movie that's not about middle earth should have.

I've heard of that movie, but have never seen it.
This new movie he is in looks interesting. Um..what's it called again...Assassination Tango?? Something like that. Or is it The Dancer Upstairs? One of them has Malcovich and the other Duvall I believe.

You are almost in every one of them! LOL Not really, I took a bunch of your horses and chickens.
It was such a nice visit and you have a wonderful place! Thanks again for having us!

I love "Tender Mercies"...we've seen it about a zillion times, and my brother owns it. Well, last night when we were in chat.... Hair, Rosie, OT, 2 others - who was there?..... we were talking away and I heard something slam into my house. Sounded like somebody playing baseball slammed a ball into the back of the house. Then, I heard the same thing on the side. I told 'em just a minute because I thought somebody was out there vandalizing. The noise got harder and faster and turns out it was hail the size of softballs! No rain either - just dry as a bone out there and that size hail. Smeagol was out back too and she likes to lay out in the yard IN THE RAIN. Scared me, but she was smart and came onto the porch. Our back porch is a completely enclosed room just for her.
But, the sky wasn't even dark or anything. There was cloud cover but not even heavy. Weird. After the hail fell for about 2 minutes the bottom let out and it rained extremely hard for about 2 or 3 minutes.
The whole thing was over in less than 10 minutes I know. Probably 5 minutes. Anybody remember how long I was off chat?

I love "Tender Mercies"...we've seen it about a zillion times, and my brother owns it. I did get home early enough last night to see the highlights. But, alas, it wasn't showing at the airport as I sat.

Tender Mercies?
To: Overtaxed
I think it was Jen and Suzi there then. But, it barely seemed like 5 minutes to me for the whole thing. But, was very freaky and I was running around making sure Smeagol was okay, then looked at the house and plants and in amazement at that huge hail all over the yard so it was probably longer than I think.
Notice I didn't have to worry about checking the cats. At least they are smart enough that they run for their room (the workroom in the garage) at the first sign of problems.

Tender Mercies.... what's it about? Does it have action? No...not really. It's a tearjerker. But a description doesn't really do it justice. Basic story is he plays a washed up country singer with a drinkin' problem (and other issues) who is befriended by a young widow with a little son. Goes from there.
