Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

I guess what I'm saying is that I think the anti-witchcraft crowd has given HP more substance than it really has.The "witchcraft" most people get in a snit about was a synthesized product done by a couple of guys who did it to meet chicks. I'm not worried about the witchcraft aspect of the movie There's just the normal concerns parents should have (but often don't bother) about anything their kids see on the big or little screen. Heck, the government is complaining that nobody is using the V-chip, even though they forced consumers to pay for it.
A more serious worry are the Darwin Award candidates who try the stuff in "Jackass" or "Fast and Furious". I expect another outbreak of stupidity after the kiddies see "2 Fast, 2 Furious", and try to emulate what they see on the screen with their wannabe rice rockets. I have no problem with them killing themselves through stupidity, I just hope they do it somewhere where they won't take out the innocent at the same time.

I'm back! Steve took the boys swimming. He talked me out of it before you ever had a chance. He said if this endeavor goes well this year, we'll raise a bunch of meat roosters next year and stock our freezer! But he didn't want a rooster.
Goodness! Pipping already?? Any hatched yet? How exciting! Can you take a picture?
To: 2Jedismom
Do you know what pipping is? is that why you put the question marks after that?
Pipping is the baby chick pecking the egg to crack it to hatch out. They pip all around the big end then push the egg apart. There is one egg with one pip showing. I just looked at them and it is jiggling around some. He may come tonight. Some of the other eggs are jiggling no pip marks, but alot of peeping.

If everything hold off till Mon. what time do you want to come out?Whenever would be convenient for you! I asked three families if they wanted to observe too, and they said it sounded fun...I could just tell them whatever time is most convenient for you. I'll be surprised if all of them show up.
To: 2Jedismom
Well lets see how things are going tomorrow evening. Is that enough notice?
Becky
To: PayNoAttentionManBehindCurtain
Sure, just let me know. I've given them the "heads-up" and I thought we could all meet at Taco Bueno there in Bixby. One family is coming from Coweta...
To: 2Jedismom
OK. If they hold off till Mon. then I would say any time from 11:00 on would be great for me. I have one errand I have to run in the morning so I can meet there anytime after I get that done. If there are plenty of eggs left to hatch then there would be no rush in the morning, may want to wait even till after lunch, because as I said there's no telling how long it will take for everyone to see one hatch. It could be quick, it could take awhile.

BTW, I don't have a camera or anyway to put pictures on the thread.
Becky
To: PayNoAttentionManBehindCurtain
What about tomorrow? If they are really going nuts, would we come tomorrow?
To: PayNoAttentionManBehindCurtain
No camera? I'll come prepared!
To: 2Jedismom
Keep your fingers crossed they don't come tomorrow, because we won't be here all day. Our church is having a picnic tomorrow. If we go to that we won't be home till evening. Of course if I can tell that they are coming in the morning, a lot of pipping, before I go to church, I can let you know, but I would still go to church. You leave them in the incubator for 24 hrs after hatching, so they will be fine even if we are not here. I just will feel bad if you miss it:)
I don't think they would all come, maybe this one guy is just a fluke to get us all stirred up:)
Becky
To: PayNoAttentionManBehindCurtain
Yeah, I had some Braxton Hicks do that to me a couple of times! LOL
To: 2Jedismom
When I did that first batch, I had one egg that had one pip mark the day before. It stayed that way till the next day. Other eggs actually hatched before it did. So one egg with one pip does not mean they will come tomorrow, I hope:)
Becky
To: 2Jedismom
LOL, heck maybe that egg was pipped 2 days before and I didn't see it. Hope.
Do you have one of those cameras that hook to a computer? Is that how you get pictures so quick? I've been wondering how you all do that. I might get a favor from you, maybe you could take a picture of my horses to show Hair. I'm really proud of them:). Does it have to have film to do that? If you let me know I could get some.
We only buy those disposable ones. It happens when your kids grow up. You know though with a grandbaby on the way, I may have to invest in a good one again.
Becky
To: PayNoAttentionManBehindCurtain
No, it's digital...takes up to 122 pictures and I can download them all into my computer and email them to you. I'll be happy to bring it and take a BUNCH of pictures of your horse! I can even burn them onto a disk for you to keep for all time!
My mom gave me this camera when she upgraded to a really nice one.
To: SuziQ
What to do you think, Suz...should I brew a pot of coffee?
Ok...you talked me into it.
To: 2Jedismom
Wow thanks. I just would like to have a picture of my horses to show sometimes on the internet, so that would be great.
No change in the egg so far, looking good:)
Becky
To: PayNoAttentionManBehindCurtain
I took some more good pictures of the boys with their chickens...

I just took my brothers bowling... made me think of your guys, 2J. They were so clueless, it was funny.
We're under a massively high wind advisory... should be 60-ish mph winds, and it's been raining all day so there are sticks and things. Maybe that doesn't sound like much to you, you live in a tornado place, but around here that's a lot...
