Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

Goooood morning! Going to make another try at a drivers' license. When I get home I have a closet to organize and yummies to bake....
To: Wneighbor
Wneighbor; That was some fall, everyday is a blessing isn't it. It was so amazing to read those few words-"since I broke my neck"-Susan turned to me and said-"Its about time to share your story"-Thanks for prompting me to tell my story.

Good Morning:
Got up to 96 here yesterday, it's bout mid 50's this a.m. Windy, hope to do some painting today, will be sticking around the home place this weekend.
Our city has "Old Tyme Days" this weekend, and when you live literally across the street from corner of Downtown, you are a participant practically. We usually phone in at least one accident that happens on our corner. But we also walk down to get a bag of kettle corn and listen to the Andies Indian group.
It's fun to sit on the front porch swing and watch the action and try to figure out what song the local bands are playing.

Good Morning!
It got up to the low 80's yesterday with relatively low humidity....all in all a nice day and the same weather today. I'm going to take Frodo to The House today. My sister says the Dwarf Blue Corn is up...yay! I'm planning on putting in the Ruby Queen (red sweet corn) and some sunflowers today. I imagine there'll be a lot of weeds to deal with.

Rats! It's started raining.
To: Overtaxed
Rain? - Rats! - I want to see Frodo in the Garden! - Is it going to rain all day or just a passing thing?
Hullo! - Good morning!
To: Bear_in_RoseBear
[shakes head]

when you live literally across the street from corner of Downtown, you are a participant practically. When I was in college I lived right across the street from the big rodeo grounds. In Ellensburg, the rodeo is a very big deal. I was close enough to make a mint on parking in my yard at $5 per car!
To: HairOfTheDog; SuziQ
I think it's supposed to rain on and off today.

The garden is in the far eastern corner of the county (Wake) that Raleigh is in. It's raining at my house, but not at the garden yet.
There's always next weekend. When does SuziQ need him?

'Morning!
Brewing another pot....
To: Overtaxed
Are you sure one pot is enough?
I've got my trust Diet Dr Pepper, but the only reason I'm up this early is because my sibs needed breakfast and I had to go to the store for them.

Maybe I should have said "batch". I don't make 10 to 12 cups at a time! LOL
I reckon my total coffee volume for this morning is 4 cups as the measuring cup measures.
To: Overtaxed
So only, what, eight more to go and you're human for the day?

Good morning...
Uhmm, sorry about that up above... I was punchy from being up so late... yeah, that's the ticket...
I'm listening to old-timey country music, waiting for some neighborhood boys to come over and mow the lawn... hit 100 yesterday and will likely do the same today.
Sometime later today I get to set up our new cable modem...

If you're gonna complain about the heat.... move here, we haven't had many days get past 75 degrees yet. It's been a cool, wet spring here.

Good morning!
I wasn't complaining, just stating a fact... ;)
Nevertheless, I don't plan on being outside much today. If air conditioning didn't exist, I couldn't live in Texas.
Was thinking yesterday how much I miss seeing snow. My last trip to northern Michigan in Dec. 1999 had cured me of that for a while!
