The Hobbit Hole III - Journey to the Cross-roads!

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

Hi.
To: HairOfTheDog
This mare takes really good care of me (and herself). It's kind of like finding a really good dancing partner, we each know what the other is thinking. Plus, she's pretty, has a good disposition, is well coordinated, and loves to jump (except from a trot). The only downside is that she's getting a few years on her.
I think we're going to try breeding her to a nice Hanoverian stallion. She has had some beautiful, beautiful Appendix foals bred to several QH stallions, and I would love to see what she would produce with a warmblood cross.

Oh, no, I was going to spam... right... should go to bed before Hair sees. Night all!

Ha Ha, yes, guess so!

My attempt at 'innocent lil'me' spam failed. :)
To: JenB
Be sure your spams will find you out.

Good night.

Reverend Mother, I have sinned.
It's almost 11:00 p.m. and I've just ordered a pizza. Gonna watch Braveheart. Got it from Netflix. Never seen it.

Oh. So you're not sleeping tonight, huh?
I have never seen Braveheart either. Tell me if it's good.

I dunno, if my place was haunted I might just set out another plate! This is a true story: a Jewish friend of mine last Passover had her whole mizpocheh (extended family) in for the Seder. They set the usual extra place for Elijah, and at the appropriate time the paterfamilias extended the usual invitation to the Prophet to come in and sit down, if he was in the neighborhood.
The front door (which was locked - at least they thought it was - ) blew open, and a huge gust of wind flurried into the room and guttered the candles on the table.
They all looked at each other (twilight zone music here) and went on with the seder . . . .

Tell me if it's good. I will if I stay awake long enough.

Yeah! What a dangerous past we have!
I have had broken bones.... fell off a horse... and I have been in accidents, but I wouldn't call them a brush with death. Closest thing I have was the brush with killing that old couple that was walkin across the road. I saw them get hit, though, which was bad for me, worse for them, and the worst for the poor woman that hit them.

Hair; I'm not too good ciphering sometimes, actually 2002, which, all things considered is even more amazing now. ps luckily I had seen LOTR twice by then, so was able to follow the posts pretty well.
To: HairOfTheDog
You know, Entmoot isn't going to be long enough for all the stories.
Nobody has the time to do it (well maybe g'nad), but it would be fascinating to go back through the three threads and pull all the "amazing" stories.
In spite of our common love for all things Tolkien and for FR and conservative causes, we're really quite a diverse group.

That would be a lovely foal.
It is good to have a good friend for a horse. I was a bit teary this morning with mine when I visited him in the pasture, wishing he could tell me if it hurts too bad to work. Because he is too willing to try. I won't work him now until he gets the new shoes, and it will take a week for there to be any benefit from the medication anyhow.

"They all looked at each other (twilight zone music here) and went on with the seder . . . ." Yes, and probably had another (several) slug(s) of wine.
To: AnAmericanMother
Heh....
To: Sam Cree
mmmmmmm....wine slugs....

Okay, I'm signing off folks. See you tomorrow. I have been granted a reprieve from helping to dig a drainage ditch at the pool. "Miss Utility" has not cleared us to dig.
(have I mentioned that this is my last season on the pool board?)
g'nite

It was 2002? - I remember when you first came on the thread! - You said you were gonna fletch some arrows in the corner by the window where there was good light! That had to have been not too long into the recovery then, because we were already on the second thread I think!
