The Hobbit Hole III - Journey to the Cross-roads!

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

I got the dining room uncluttered. But the pile of junk mail is starting to grow on the table again.

Anybody else learn to type on a Brown Royal Office model, complete with carriage return and bell? I have no idea what the make and model was that I learned on, but there was a carriage return for which you had to remove your right hand from the keys, swing it to the left and then place your right hand back in the correct position without looking ---- or get smacked by the teacher.

I've abandoned the Buff Orpi idea. It's just not do-able. The priority is "pullets" because I can't be dealing with, and don't want to deal with extra roosters and even extra hens. I just want two...
So I'm just going down to the feed store and getting a couple of whatever pullets.

I always had a return button to push, but it did have a bell.

But the pile of junk mail is starting to grow on the table again.Well, with the family situations recently we only have one little bitty part coming to Myranda's graduation this weekend. An aunt, uncle, cousin, cousin's wife and 2 kids. The kids are my grandkids ages so I have worked my buns off today getting low breakable stuff to higher places. It accounted for my whereabouts outside the Hobbit Hole from 6:30 this morning till after noon. And yet, I still have 3 stacks to take care of tomorrow. They should be here around 3.

You need to keep me up to date on all the latest terminology. That way I can stay ahead of Myranda.

Turns out we only had one 12 oz. bag of discs, so we could only make 6 bars. They are GOOD, though. I'm gonna go to the store in the morning and get some more discs so we can make more. Gotta have them ready for Anime Movie event tomorrow night.

My horse gets 2 cans a beer a day. He is anadrotic. Beer helps.

I didn't notice her accent either!!I think that's because we're from the same state. Even if you aren't now.
I am not near as bad as I was when I was a young adult. I think severe timidity made my speech even slower and more slurred than it would normally be.
Somehow or another living in Austin for 10 years did away with most of the shyness. My ex-husband's dad from Kansas City used to ridicule Myranda and I both. He said that if people talked like us in KC they sent 'em to special schools because people think they're stupid. I'd tell you what I told him back but I don't want to hurt anybody's feelings here just 'cause they're not from Texas.

I know that mine waxes and wanes depending on the company I keep. In professional situations now I probably only have a minimal accent as appropriate. But, at home........ or with friends and family..... it stays purdy down home.

I'm logging off for a while...Steve is working on his thesis and should be coming in the door any minute. See you later, maybe even later tonight.

I am thinking of a bonfire.
Good night all.

I don't know these discs. I've obviously missed out on this at my local grocery store.
Of course I don't like grocery stores as much as I used to so I don't browse. They don't have the same stuff up here as they do at home.

Im an Oiler fan not a soccer man
And my arms are red and so is my blood
And they make it boil with that soft Texas drawl
And I love 'em all Texas women

Well, have a nice evening. Know you already signed off. I'm fixing to get in the shower and hit the sack myself. Tomorrow Myranda doesn't have to go to school. Technically it's a school day. But, it's finals and she doesn't have anything tomorrow. Graduation practice though at 2:45 tomorrow afternoon.
When I picked her up this afternoon she had tears in her eyes. She says, "My whole life since I was 5 years old centered around Texas schools, weekends, summer vacations and back to school." I said, "well thanks, it's good to hear MOM in there." She accused me of trying to guilt her! Well I never!

My farrier charges $45 dollars all around. But there are some here who are up to the $60-70 dollar mark. They cater to the wannabe horse owners from the city who board their horses and see them once a wk.

I am thinking of a bonfire. I had to scroll down to see if the forest fire photo was there yet. It will be. She likes it. Hair and I tried to get her to burn the stuff last weekend. She's got some kind of fear of burning the whole state or something.

Hey Corin! You, Wneighbor, and I are gonna drive JenB nuts with our accents at Entmoot. You and I won't be doing the Texan thing like Wneighbor, but that one, combined with your Mid-Atlantic and my Deep South ought to make her reel!

I think I wore out a pair of boots on that song throughout the 80's.
You know it's all true don't cha?
