Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

Um. It's a song. And I haven't heard it before. So... 60s or 70s? And it's not the Beatles.

Yeah, it's the Monkees.

It looks like I'd take the train from my local station to Philly, and then catch the train from NYC on its way down. We'd be getting off in Miami, right?

The elf-girl pair here just looks at each other as we fix our bowls and smile. Well, it's only us, and we love each other anyway.
Oh, and I forgot this isn't a vegetarian stew. It has a pound of browned sausage and all the grease in it too. not diet food.
To: Corin Stormhands
Us dwarves will sit around and enjoy the pipeweed... I have admitted that smokes were the hardest habit I ever broke. And now, I still love to sit around after a meal and have 2nd hand smoke. I know, somebody out there is going ewwwww....
To: JenB
And there has to be a rule that those who do not cook have to clean the pots afterwards! I like the way you think. That is the rule in our house. Both of us like to cook so the other one cleans up.
To: Wneighbor
I'd be the one going, "ewww", after the smoking starts. As long as it's after dinner I should be ok but the smell of cigarettes does strange things to my stomach occasionally.
It's because I was not raised in a dwarf household, I'm sure. We're very Elvish, or at least Numenorean, here.

We sounded like Bilbo and the dwarves, figuring out how to rip off Smaug. It might have worked, but it wouldn't have been pretty. yep, and some of your kin might not have been too impressed with the company you keep.
To: JenB
I think I'm probably just not totally over the addiction. The aroma is like comfort food. Nasty as it may be. I always get really strange looks from folks on this issue.
