Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

Well...I didn't want to move on without responding, and didn't know what to say. I trust my Dad and totally respect his judgements, so I shouldn't really worry, but as I said, it's a foreign idea right now.
On the other hand, one of the coolest couples I know (and I'm proud to call them friends) were both widowed and didn't marry until their sixties or so. Seeing them together, I never would have guessed that. They're just meant for one another. So it can happen - it's just too soon to think about it in this particular case, and I think Dad would agree with me there.

I had such a wild DREAM last night!! We were all meeting for Entmoot in the living room of the castle. G'nad was there, ksen was there, Corin was there, you were there, Wneighbor (with red hair) and Ruthy, OT and Rosie and Jen, too. There were others there too, that I never attached a name to. 300winmag came in and you introduced us to him.
We were really having a good time, but we were doing nothing but sitting around talking all at the same time! The kids were running around in the house, but we were just sitting on couches laughing and visiting!
I've been psyched up for Entmoot ever since!
It was a good dream.

So it can happen - it's just too soon to think about it in this particular case, and I think Dad would agree with me there. Not to belabor the point Rosie, but the concept will get easier with time. It's only been a year, and while that seems like a lifetime without your mom, it really isn't that long.
I don't get the impression that your dad is the hasty type.
