Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

Armadillos carry Hanson's disease, also known as leprosy. Never touch one!
Steve took me fishing!! He just came in, said "Let's go fishing!" and off we went. Just to a city reservoir, but we caught two small perch that after we hooked we let the boys reel in.
Tomorrow he's taking me to a catfish hotspot!

Steve usually goes to bed about that time too...9ish usually. He's a early riser, though...so he'll be the one starting breakfast, probably...

good country music from Amarillo and Abilene, the friendliest people and the purdiest women you ever seen....

You know, I think I've been in exactly that Armadillo's position way back in my younger days...

Armadillos carry Hanson's disease, also known as leprosy. Never touch one! This is true. But, we didn't know about that when we were kids and we caught them and played with them a lot. Also, some of the people that worked for my grandfather's construction company used to cook them for us. They make good tamales. But, then there was that leprosy thing and you have to think.........
Wonder why me fingernails are getting messed up. Kidding... i'm just kidding.
We're glad your here.

Cool! Good evening 2J!

Guess what happened while we were fishing?
You know this is a city reservoir where we went fishing...the city water supply. The whole time we were fishing, this police car literally drove around the top of the reservoir, right behind us...round and round the reservoir. Once, he stopped and talked to us, asked if we were having any luck. We said no (so far) and he said he was part of the Orange level extra security around the reservoir. He asked us to stay alert.
No kidding. It seemed unreal.

Huh. That is somethin'.

I learned more than I wanted in the spy business. I quit looking for G'nad because I found some useful pages in Texas. I found Myranda's dad who walked out when she was 3 and disappeared off the face of the earth in '92. I didn't really want to find him. But, she asked me about a year ago to see if I could find him.
ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
To: HairOfTheDog
I remember thinking when those two buildings fell "Well, nothing is ever going to be the same." I was right, but just had no idea.

Wow. So, they guard all reservoirs? Or all water supply ones? Or just near large cities? Do we know how they pick spots? or does everyone else know these things and i'm just out of the loop?
To: Wneighbor
I do like that song!
What am I doing still up?

Yes, I've always liked that song. It was kind of a signature song during my junior year in high school. LOL.
Notice which line I stopped on.
To: 2Jedismom
That's true.... and we didn't have any idea how, but I think we all felt that!
To: HairOfTheDog
Well, I quit snoopin' on g'nad when I found the legislature thing. It took a bit of snooping but I found records by county here so I went fishing. But, 2J had a better fishing experience than me.
To: Wneighbor
Sis, I have no idea. It never entered my mind till he told me. But I imagine it's mainly the water supply reservoirs. This thing is about 3 miles around and has a huge treatment plant next to it, all lit up.
Apparently, they don't normally patrol the place constantly except during high alert times.
