Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

I think it could be around them, and I would hope it would be discreetly done...but that's just me and I have no business telling others how to live.
The Hole Dwellers are decent people though...I can't see any of them behaving badly. Well, maybe g'nad...
JUST KIDDING!

G'nad doesn't get drunk, remember.
To: Wneighbor; Corin Stormhands; g'nad
G'nad has a pass. He can be excused till things settle a bit. What -- excuse someone from the HH just because of a little war!! Some folks have the limpest excuses.
To: 2Jedismom
Well, I just hope that what we think of as innocent-enough "having of pints and laughing and carrying on" is not upsetting. I don't picture any of us being out of hand either.... I just wondered what your definition of out of hand was. If getting up to make a drink that had alcohol in it crossed the line, then we need to know that.
All of us are WAY beyond peer pressure, no one is going to give you a hard time about not drinking.... And drinking isn't going to be our main focus either.... It would likely just be part of the scene, and we shouldn't pussy-foot around it if it is an issue that causes problems.
To: 2Jedismom
And I wouldn't be drinking, and probably some of the others, too. You can make chocolate malts for us teetotalers!

I didn't mean he gets drunk and behaves badly...just behaves badly!! But I'm just kidding...just trying to be funny at g'nad's expense.
Has ANYONE heard from him since the baby was born???
Should I try to call?

HA! - No - His pass is not the war, the missus just had a baby.
Hullo LCS!
To: 2Jedismom
I know his name and knew his old phone number, do you know it?
To: HairOfTheDog; Lucius Cornelius Sulla
HA! - No - His pass is not the war, the missus just had a babyAnd they just moved and don't have their Internet act together.
To: HairOfTheDog
That's exactly how I see it. And if everyone even wanted to really tie one on, I wouldn't mind, if they wouldn't mind waiting till the boys went to bed. I'd probably stay up and visit for a while myself...although in a scenario such as this, Steve would surely go to bed with the boys. Which he does frequently anyways.

What connects her to the warm fuzzies? Shopping malls.

Well, you can use my blender, if you wash it out...after we go to bed. We don't need no steenkin' blender for Irish Car bombs...
The frozen margaritas and the daquiris are a different story.
To: Corin Stormhands
Dirty Dancing was filmed in my home county at Mountain Lake Resort. It was supposed to be the Catskills. That movie was based on the sort of dancing that actually went on among high school kids in that resort area in the late 1950's. I lived in the next county and took part in a high school music festival right in that part of the Catskills. They had some home dance parties for some of the festival participants. It was sure eye-opening for us out-of-towners!!
To: Corin Stormhands
The Castle may well have a blender in stock.
To: Lucius Cornelius Sulla
Hey, LCS! Long time no see. Have you got your new computer yet?

G'nad doesn't get drunk, remember. Yep. I'm a witness. He can drink us all under the table and you will never notice a change in him.
He says he's an expensive drunk.
To: Lucius Cornelius Sulla; HairOfTheDog; g'nad
Hair already splained it. (or part of it).
g'nad retired at the end of April and moved to Missouri. They were having difficulties getting their internet connection. We heard from him once from the library.
But the newest dwarfling was also due around mid-May.
