The Hobbit Hole III - Journey to the Cross-roads!

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

I was thinking more along the line of Irish Car Bombs.
To: Overtaxed
Well, you can use my blender, if you wash it out...after we go to bed.

I'm bringing my own cookware, too...btw. My own waffle iron and my own griddle and my own blender.
I'm used to them.

So you're driving over? Or trying to get all that stuff on the plane? :)
To: Overtaxed
Driving...we'll be driving the old minivan! LOL
My Ford Aerostar.

Well, you can use my blender, if you wash it out...after we go to bed. Clarification.... Do we have to wait for you to go to bed before we use the blender? - Or before we wash it out?
To: HairOfTheDog
Well, if it looks like you're headed toward the blender to make something other than malts...we'll probably go to bed, or for a walk, or on a sightseeing trip...
It'll work out. I'm not worried.

I love chocolate malts! I haven't had one in ages because I've been dieting. I'd rather have a chocolate malt than a car bomb, which is good, since I'm not allowed to drink yet.
Hi all. Life is odd here. Not entirely sure why. Anyway things are pretty good... tomorrow being Friday and us facing a nice long three-day weekend.

According to the recipe I got from g'nad, you don't need no stinkin' blender!
To: 2Jedismom
Well, that is an interesting comment though.... I know you don't drink, but if folk are having drinks while we are hanging around the castle, would that bother your family? (presuming that we aren't just getting blotto and mashing the cans on our forehead) - I think we will need to know that.

Steve even gets tomorrow off!!

I thought you just turned 21.... not that anyone *should* really ever have an Irish Car Bomb....
To: HairOfTheDog
We can always make those Jello things.
To: Overtaxed
With the kids around, we'd have to be pretty careful with "adult only" jello in the house.
To: HairOfTheDog
It would depend, I guess. I haven't been around anyone that drinks in so long that I don't know how I'd behave! Like I say, I'm not too worried. We pretty well know that people are going to be drinking a beer now and then and some "Old Winyards" with dinner is to be expected! I can't see any Hole Dweller acting disorderly...it just doesn't fit the image I have of you all! LOL
I just wouldn't want anyone getting schnockered in front of my kids. But I repeat, I'm not worried about it. I just can't see it happening.

No, that was my 20th.
2J, do you not approve of your boys being around alcohol? I certainly understand if that's your position, I'm just curious.

Ummmm.....how about if we make non-alcoholic jello shots with little gummie candies in them for the kids?
To: HairOfTheDog; ksen
And it's not like we'll be the only ones not drinking...ksen doesn't drink, nor his family...so I can't see us being isolated, even.
I've been to gatherings with Steve's family (long time ago) where they all drank and we didn't and they actually ridiculed us, like they thought we thought we were better than them. Very uncomfortable, that.

To: HairOfTheDog
Exactly! And the gummies should have some kid appeal...so it seems to me.
