Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

Been reading down thru here today about your fashion sense. LOL.
Don't feel bad, I don't even know what Chuck Taylors are, pants?, shoes?, undies:)?. Our motto around here is "if Wal-Mart doesn't have it we don't need it." Literally eveything I own/wear is from Wal-Mart, everything, and I still don't consider myself old, and you have to be younger then me.

Don't feel bad, I don't even know what Chuck Taylors are, pants?, shoes?, undies:)LOL! Yeah, I didn't know what they were either, until 2J explained to me. They're sneakers, like the old Converse canvas ones:

Can't remember if 2J has the low ones or hi-tops.

Good morning.
Gonna be kind of a rough day. It's a year today since Mom passed away.

Gonna be kind of a rough day. I'll keep you in my thoughts today. Consider yourself hugged.

WEll I have to get my trailer and camping gear ready today, and run errands to get ready for my ride this weekend. nervous excitment setting in:). I love this sport, but I am such a home body I hate being away from home even for 3 days and 2 nites. It is never till these rides are over and I am at home that it dawns on me I had alot of fun. The few days before I am always thinking, is all this work, and being away from home worth it.
This ride should be in cell phone range though. But in case it is not post a reminder to Mack for me once in a while to turn the eggs:) I turn them 3 times a day, but if he will do it just 2x, that would be good. I can tell some of them (most, for sure) are growing good. When the chick inside starts to get really big, lays on one side all night, in the morning when I turn them they are hard to keep the heavy side up. It gets frustrating because they roll so easy back to the heavy side. Do you remember Tommy Tippy drinking cup? That's what they remind me of.

mornin' all

I know it's hard, Rosie, I still miss mine.
But your Mom was a lovely person, so she can be an inspiration to you, too, always.
To: Lil'freeper
I'll keep you in my thoughts today. Consider yourself hugged.Thanks...I really appreciate it! Keep my Dad in your thoughts, too...this is going to be especially hard on him.
To: RosieCotton
Morning all.
Hope all is well. This is our 3rd rainy day in a row here. It has never even rained 2 days in a row since I lived here so I'm thinking it must be weather of Biblical significance. ha.
To: RosieCotton
I am sorry for the loss of your mother. Mine passed away 12 yrs ago. She was only 58. We had a family cook out here yesterday. That is when I think about/miss her the most. When all her grandchildren are together, and now a few great grandchildren. I know my dad thinks about her alot then too. But time does heal, and the thoughts are not all sadness, just thoughts. So hang in there it gets easier.

Still rainy, still no foundation. I just made a list lowering my expectations of accomplishments for the weekend. We may see some sun by Saturday, but I'm not planning anything else. Just hope it's dry enough to do the family fun day at the pool on Saturday. I really don't want to delay it until Monday.
Have I mentioned that I'm resigning from the pool board, effective September 1 at 6:00 p.m.? (they don't know I'm quitting. But that's when the pool closes for the season)

Literally eveything I own/wear is from Wal-Mart... Nothin' wrong with Wal-Mart. The Mrs. goes back to work there next week. They hired her back in the accounting office at the same pay rate and knowing she'll quit again once school starts. That's pretty cool.
So, anything the Stormhands buy between now and September will come from Wal-Mart. (I love that employee discount card...)

It's a year today since Mom passed away. I understand Rosie. We're here for hugs and hand holding.
My dad died on August 1st and it's still a rough day for me. This year will be 25 years. It gets a little easier every year. But I still miss him and get angry that our time together was cut short.
But enough about me. Just know you're in our thoughts and prayers today.
To: Lil'freeper
Still rainy, still no foundation. Have you ever seen Mr. Blandings Builds His Dream House?
To: Overtaxed
Have you ever seen Mr. Blandings Builds His Dream House?
No. Is it about a house that never gets built? If so, I couldn't bear to watch it. *sigh*
To: Corin Stormhands
I don't think there is anything wrong with Wal-Mart. But most people of the ilk 2J was referring to probably do not consider Wal-Mart the place to get "fashion sense" clothes, although I believe that is a matter of opinion:).

Just hope it's dry enough to do the family fun day at the pool on Saturday. We're going to have a second go at drivers' licenses on Saturday. My blood pressure is going up at the very thought of it.
*deep breath*happy thoughts*happy thoughts*
To: RosieCotton
Big hugs and "happy thawts" coming your way.
We're here for you!
