Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

That dog made a huge amount of noise while he was attacking, but the only thing I actually saw was the blood on the floor and the people sitting there sobbing with their arms all bound up in gauze and that stretchy elastic tape like stuff called coban. After we got out and went to the Dollar store, that's when the EMS showed up.

Hmmmm.... Wonder what came of it!

There's a dive boat down here named the Starfish Enterprise, which I also like alot. Somewhere in this computer there is a file with cool boat names. I don't know why.

"There's a dive boat down here named the Starfish Enterprise,"Heh..that's a good name too!

OK, I finally dragged myself in here. :)
I've been trying to get my sweepstakes entries out so I don't miss any more deadlines. (It's a hobby of mine that's both inexpensive and fun). But I was having such serious HH withdrawal, I had to stop and pop in to say hello to everyone.
I notice we have some new faces in here, so let me add my welcome to everyone else's!
Sam Cree - glad to see you're back safe and sound! :)
I did vote in the new poll...ELFBASH!
Lemme get some breakfast on here, although it may be elevenses for some. Let's do a brunch then, what say you?
Turkey and bacon club subs for all, you choose the extras and the kind of cheese you like. I've got provolone, swiss, munchee and hmmmm...oh, plain ol' American. Take your pick! Also, on the right you'll see the lettuce, tomatos, black olives, hot peppers, oil and vinegar, etc. May I please kindly remind the dwarves that this buffet is for everyone, so no hogging the fixins! :)
Shrimp cocktail, steamed snow crab legs, mozzarella sticks, onion rings and jalapeno poppers are there to munch on, if you want snacks.
I've also fixed the breakfast staples of scrambled eggs and bacon with sausage patties for those who still want breakfast!
I've got plenty of soda out, but for the weary (like me), there is still some hot coffee and fresh orange juice on the sideboard. And for those who are celebrating TGIF, I've tapped a barrel of premium suds for ya as well.
Oh and 2J - I've been attacked by dogs twice in my life. One was my fault (the Great Dane was still doozy from anesthesia) and the other was a Rottweiler with mental illness which would go from wagging its tail to chewing on your arm in 1 second flat. Never got hurt seriously, thank goodness, but dog attacks are scary things. They will go for your throat and face in most instances and those folks are very fortunate their kid was not killed.

I don't know! LOL Just one of those episodes that happen pretty frequently in my life. The vet office was all over it, seemed to be taking care of things pretty well. The racket seemed to disturb the boys, so I got them out of there. They saw all that blood on the floor though and I just told them that the dog was hurt and that it was in the right place to get better. They have never given me any clues that it bothered them further, and I'm pretty perceptive when it comes to something bothering them.

Good morning!
Thanks for breakfast, Ruthy! I got up late, so I'll have a combination breakfast and elevenses.
It's my last day of unemployment! (Weekends don't count.) Woo-hoo!
To: RosieCotton
So is Bear the only one we need to be focusing job prayers on now? Is that right?
To: RMDupree
Dibs on the bacon!
To: 2Jedismom; RMDupree
As many people as I know who have dogs with no training, dogs that have never been socialized around other dogs, and people who don't know better than to let them sniff anyone else they see, I am amazed I have never witnessed a wreck in a vet's office. There are a lot of variables mushed together in a tight space there!
Says more for the adaptability of most critters than it does good handling by the owners!

Ecurbh has to find something in Minnesota.
To: 2Jedismom
Well, it wouldn't hurt to accidently pray for any of us!
To: 2Jedismom
...and I should start looking....y'know...keep the options open.

I'm on the way to Walmart to get you some "baking supplies". Should get your cookies out this afternoon. They are in bags of 6 each, 5 separate bags. That way you can freeze them, if you like.
Then I'm stopping at the fruit stand this afternoon to get the pecans for Rosie and OT's cookies. I'll probably bake them Sunday and get them out Monday morning.
To: Overtaxed
Yes, ecurb and you...that's right.
I knew there was some more!
To: RosieCotton
So what are you going to do? - Goof off? - I have to get some data entered, but then I just have to pick up and get ready for company!
To: Overtaxed
I hadn't heard he was moving back (?) there. Boy, am I out of the loop or what!?
Did he already move, or is he trying to find a job first?
To: HairOfTheDog
I accidently do all the time! LOL
To: HairOfTheDog
Probably going to do some reading. I should clean up the house, but...I'm a lazy bum.
To: 2Jedismom
You are wonderful 2J! - Thank you so much!
