The Hobbit Hole III - Journey to the Cross-roads!

Posted on 12/17/2002 7:32:02 AM PST by HairOfTheDog

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Journey to the Cross-roads

The Two Towers Edition

Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)

Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

That is a jerk of a kid, will perhaps always be a jerk.

Kind of difficult to discipline someone else's child, but sounds like you made a good start. IMO, the school has a responsibility to prevent out of control individuals from selfishly disrupting school activities and interfering with the efforts of the other children.

Glad I'm not 18 any more. But I would settle for 40.

Not sure if this has come up before, but I just found out that The Two Towers is now available for pre-order at Amazon. If you're going to be ordering it online anyway, you can help support my Hobbit Hole site by using these links:

Hi everyone. I just wanted to check in and let everyone know that I will be away this coming week. It's time for my tri-annual trip to Pensacola. I'll be back Friday night.

I am going to call the property manager of the castle and arrange to put the deposit down the week I get back. So pray it is not taken by then.

I may check in again before I go, but if I don't: have a great week everyone!

;^)

I just talked to the property manager. We have the castle from 1/9-1/16. I have until the 26th or so to get the check in to him so I'll bring it to him next Saturday when I get home.

Well...as it stands now I have a gig in Kansas City starting in September and a house here. So right now I'm looking for both a real estate agent and a local gig.

Yes, it's a group...I belong to two. I belong to Broken Arrow CHEF and the homeschool group at First Baptist Church in Broken Arrow. The church banquet is tonight. It's theme is "Honoring the Military" and all the docorations are patriotic. Each of the children will get a "Dog tag"!

Yes, Joshua will be going to preschool. Matthew went for one year and loved it...still has those friends (many homeschooling now, too). It will give me more time with Matthew as he goes into 4th grade (yikes!).

Hullo All!

Just marking where I stopped last night then I'll go back because there were things I wanted to comment on.

Jr. had friends over for his birthday last night (a few weeks late). I was trying to catch up here after playing three rounds of laser tag and fell asleep in the middle of a post to Wn. When I woke up at the keyboard and couldn't figger out what I was talkin' about, I went to bed.

Rough afternoon yesterday. Jr. had an emotional meltdown when he got home from school. I had to leave work early and come home to deal with it since Mom was getting nowhere. I got him to the point of realizing that yes, he would go play his baseball game and yes he would be polite to his company and yes he would stay in youth choir because he had made commitments even if he didn't want to follow thru.

But we got to the game and things turned around. He got a hit, then he stole first after the catcher dropped the ball on a third strike. So he got in the car and said "forget about everything I said..." Still, we have an appointment set up with the doctor we've been working with.

This afternoon was open house and swim team sign up at the pool. I'm freezing since I've been standing outside since 10:30 a.m. and it's cold and rainy here. But it was a good day.

Going back to catch up now...
