The Hobbit Hole III - Journey to the Cross-roads!

Posted on 12/17/2002 7:32:02 AM PST by HairOfTheDog

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Journey to the Cross-roads

The Two Towers Edition

Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)

Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

Eh...it's close enough to quitting time. Think I'll go home now and get Her Majesty's Fancy Feast in the bowl.

Miss Pretty Girl has finished the first course of Tuna Feast and is licking her chops while surveying the squirrel situation from the sliding glass door.

Well, I have steaks and pints with a friend tonight.... She wants to watch the Mariners game, I have to keep her company in the bar.

But I need to figure out what to wear... Back in a bit.

Hey OT. Happy Friday! I went to the grocery store on the way home from work and got stuck behind an idiot woman who didn't understand why her $20 worth of food stamps wasn't enough to buy her $30 worth of chocolate and tabloids. It took ten minutes and four store people to straighten things out.

My tax dollars at work.

I didn't get into that with the movie; I just loved the dreary look of it, the camera techniques, music, etc.

That's why I love the "Batman" movie series. The first movie set the tone of a dreary, depressed, psychotic stalinist grand architecture, and I love watching it. The gigantic, sometimes-crummy structures of "Fifth Element" also appeal to me, although it has genuine humor that the Batman movies don't. I also enjoy the gigantism of "Things to Come", while hooting at the British socialist propaganda.

Hi!

I didn't know you could buy tabloids with food stamps.

Slow day at work today...I'm between projects again so I did some real estate agent/ local job hunting stuff. Gotta do something about that 3 day commute I'll have beginning in Sept. :)

I'm having pizza now, then outside for some yardwork (must put tomato plants beside the car so I don't forget them tomorrow!) and then the ballgame.

Good picture of Myranda in the tree...cute.

I like her in that photo too. It's a couple of years old. She was a freshman then but hasn't changed that much. Lots of Tolkien got read in that tree.

Will have to check those out!!! You have fun. I am going to a theater production that Myranda is in tonight. I think it's a group of one-acts or something. Don't really know. It's just one of those... "my kid is doing something so must show up."

Just finished puttering around the yard: put some more firewood in the trunk, put the tomato plants in a noticeable spot for tomorrow, pulled some weeds and got skeeter bit.

Guess I should do the dishes before the game starts....
