Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

BladerunnerThat is one of my all time favorite movies! I love the version with the voiceover by Harrison Ford. We saw the Director's Cut without the voiceover and I didn't like it at all. I guess it was supposed to be more 'sophisticated', but it didn't work for me; maybe because I'm NOT! ;o)
I like the Matrix, though I don't get into the philosophy of it all. I saw an interview with Keanu, Lawrence, Carrie Ann, and Joel Silver, the producer, on Charlie Rose the other night. They were all serious about the meaning of the story. I didn't get into that with the movie; I just loved the dreary look of it, the camera techniques, music, etc.

I noticed the writer spent most of the story on the supporters of the Democrats. No bias there, huh? Well, the paper and the sherriff might have been happy to give refuge to the refuse but the county and state GOP officials were very happy to have US there. They made a good showing of support and were just as lovely as they could be to us. I made new friends! even a couple of freeper friends!

Ford was five kinds of swoonalicious in Bladerunner. Fantastic movie. One of the all-time best scifi.

Sorry, I'm a married dwarf. I don't swing. Things can get a bit uncomfortable if the question "Do you swing?" is asked without proper context!
Attention! - Breaking news! MSNBC
California car chase! - Black pickup! Freeway!

Did Myranda have fun being politically active? Yes, she had a lot of fun. She is a lot more outgoing than I am (in person) and the little cheerleader thing came out in her. (she was a cheerleader her freshman year) I may be biased in her favor but it seems to me that her huge smile opens doors for her everywhere.

I love these pictures! Are you posting them in any of the other threads?

I must say, I love those boots! A fine choice of colors! oh, you mean that same color we have in the flag! That's the color that lots of our kids have BLED. That those spineless no-good snakes like to degrade.
i think i might still be a bit riled up. anger issues abound. eomer would be good to come riding up and help about now.
To: Wneighbor
I think I ought to treat myself to some cookies! Sounds like just what the doctor would order; feet up, on the couch, relaxing.
Love those red boots!!

OH! About the ants. I get them all the time in my kitchen and the only thing that works is Terro Liquid Ant Bait. It's basically boric acid and sugar in liquid form.
You put a drop on a strip of cardboard right by the line of ants and let them eat away to their heart's content. You MUST let them swarm. Do NOT kill them!
They fill up and go back to the nest where everybody enjoys the newly found feast and then BOOM...they die! Even the Queen! *wicked laugh*

I love these pictures! Are you posting them in any of the other threads? I did some yesterday morning. But, I haven't today. The thread I posted to yesterday is no longer there. More are coming up. I'm just letting my cookies settle and uploading.

I had the perfect partner in college. Best buddy, perfect height, it was great. My problem is, it's hard to find someone tall enough. Mixed up heights don't dance right.

Sounds like just what the doctor would order; feet up, on the couch, relaxing. only,,,,, i can't freep on the couch. When I got my internet back up here at home last month I rearranged the den and put my rocking chair in front of the computer desk. LOL. I had a footstool but a kid I kept earlier this week moved it somewhere and I haven't gone to find it again. Think I'll do that now.

OH! About the ants. I get them all the time in my kitchen and the only thing that works is Terro Liquid Ant Bait. It's basically boric acid and sugar in liquid form. oh really!!! I am going to need to try to find that stuff. In the last couple of weeks I've had an ant invasion!
I must have missed that discussion on ants but I'm glad I caught this.
To: RMDupree
OK! - I will look into the ant poison stuff if/when they come back! Thanks!
To: Wneighbor
I have a couple of friends around 6'4". (That's a full foot taller than me.)
Mixed up heights don't dance right.
So true! I had to jump and stand on my toes quite a bit when dancing with them... country dancin' on pointe just isn't right.
To: Overtaxed
I'm weird.....some country I like, bluegrass certainly. Then comes medieval, renaissance, baroque, classical, romantic, big band, some jazz, some 20th Century - Copeland, Gershwin, and - oh yeah - Celtic.Sounds like our tastes are pretty close, then. Except I like some of the more modern sounding Celtic stuff...like Old Blind Dogs and Wolfstone.

The pony was stomping because her stall was invaded by ants...

Okay, here is an real live action photo taken from Mordor uh, I mean Ardmore. The huge iron gates have been opened by the trolls and the orcs are issueing from them for a photo op.

note, at this moment media cameras are turned toward the good guys. is it beyond hope that at least one orc might have had the brains to take note that their big exit was missed in favor of us?
To: Wneighbor
Oh that is priceless!
