The Hobbit Hole III - Journey to the Cross-roads!

Posted on 12/17/2002 7:32:02 AM PST by HairOfTheDog

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Journey to the Cross-roads

The Two Towers Edition

Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)

Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

You know, sometimes those boots get to going just right in the dryer and they have a great beat to them!!!

Ummkay...

I got that term from a friend...back when I was in the AF, during the summer people used to have parties behind the dorm and play loud music late into the night - the kind with a bass beat you can't ignore. Shake the pictures on the wall and all that. My friend's comment was "Oh...boot-in-the-dryer music?"

I hadn't ever thought of it that way, but it fit!

Love it, so long as I have a partner who can lead a good swing.

OH YEAH!!! Those were scootin' boots you saw in that Ardmore photo!!!

I think OTs musical tastes are more upscale than mine... ;-)

I'm weird.....some country I like, bluegrass certainly. Then comes medieval, renaissance, baroque, classical, romantic, big band, some jazz, some 20th Century - Copeland, Gershwin, and - oh yeah - Celtic.

I had the perfect partner in college. Best buddy, perfect height, it was great. He was management at some burger joint and the owner often called meetings at country bars. My friend didn't drink and didn't feel comfortable just sitting so he invited me along. We would dance and have a grand time.

Haven't really dance since then.

What I DO hate is the cars that drive by my house in the after midnight hours with stereos that shake the windows!

MMMMmmmm.... cookies, that second recipe we had.

Like I said before, You is famous!!

I noticed the writer spent most of the story on the supporters of the Democrats. No bias there, huh?

Or boots in the dryer?

"Boots in the Dryer" would be a great name for a rock band...

'specially if they're a garage band...

Fine upstanding patriotic looking family don't you think?

Absolutely! Did Myranda have fun being politically active?

I have never danced with a guy that knew how to lead in the swing...

Sorry, I'm a married dwarf. I don't swing.

Entmoot is going to be so much fun because I intend to buy food I normally wouldn't!

Oh yeah!! No dieting at Entmoot! That would be very Un-Hobbitlike!

My guess is that it's gonna be like a cruise ship; food all the time!

Oh please! I hope so!!!

Steve's specialty is buttermilk pancakes of course, and mine is yeast-risen waffles.

Then I was considering making a kind of stew.....

Check this out. I had to force myself in between to stand by Myranda in this photo.

She was popular even in Ardmore. LOL Oh, and although there was only the one in my photos, he was not the only one. I guess he was just more adhesive.

OH! And foreground left looking backward is freeper RoseD. We are getting together again one of these days.
