Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

They've made a party out of this whole thing at the expense of Texas.I assume they will try to make the taxpayer pay their expenses while on the lam. If I was a state beancounter, I'm sure I could find regulations that deny payment for non-business expenses. Hiding out in Oklahoma is not part of the job description, I'll bet.
I wonder if the GOP will have the nerve to stiff them on the expenses you know they'll want remimbursed. Maybe that's a way to keep the incident in front of the public, and beat the RATs over the head with it.

My poor pony.
I have wrinkled my brow and wondered the last couple weeks about why the pony would stomp her foot repeatedly while she was eating her grain in her stall. I thought she was just having an attitude issue and I was wondering where that was coming from!
Well, today when I was cleaning her stall I finally noticed that her stall was over-run with these little dinky ANTS! they had several trails around the stall, from her feed pan along the wall to the corner, and I noticed, a new little freeway leading to the corner she poops in. They started crawling up my leg when I stood in that corner! I bet she hasn't been able to lay down without them crawling all over her! I sprayed fly spray all over her stall, and heavy along the freeways, and tonight.... no ants, no stomping.
To: HairOfTheDog
Ants are such a pain! They've been creating a little highway into our house over the last week. They even decided to join Clare in her room upstairs!
I bought some Ant Traps and put them out on Tuesday. Since Wed. I haven't seen ONE ant. Success!!
To: SuziQ
I am not sure why I didn't notice them before, except I am not looking for them when I clean stalls. They are these little dinky ants, not regular ant-hill ants.
To: SuziQ
But I should have looked into the stomping! - That was a new behavior, and they don't usually do stuff for no reason. Ants on her legs. phooey.
To: HairOfTheDog
I'm sure your pony is grateful that you've wiped out the ants. Don't be too hard on yourself, Hair.

She will have an easier sleep tonight!
To: HairOfTheDog
She will have an easier sleep tonight! Then so can you, since you know she's comfortable now!
Hope everyone is having a good night...

Good Morning! Hope Frodo is staying dry.
To: Overtaxed
Frodo is in the jeep waiting for a dry day. Yesterday afternoon was nice, but I didn't have a camera- they're not allowed where I work. By the time I got home and got dinner on and such I was too tired to drive back to the spots I've picked out. So yeah, Frodo is dry and very bored.

Good morning! It's FRIDAY!!!
And we have brownies and cake still from yesterday - it was my boss's birthday, and several people brought down goodies. We TRIED to finish them off. ;-) I don't mind leftovers!
To: RosieCotton
Good Morning!
The boss is back in Kansas looking for a house, I finished my rice project so I guess I should look for a local job now. :)
To: Overtaxed
I'm still shopping for things under $25. Classes are over, exams are over (or if there are any, it's maybe one or two), probably 80% of the students have already left, but we don't start summer projects like redoing the computer labs for a week or so.
It's pretty quiet.
To: RosieCotton
Yep.....too quiet. Are we going to be dwarf-less today?
To: Overtaxed; Corin Stormhands
Yep.....too quiet. Are we going to be dwarf-less today?Corin doesn't have a bored meeting today, does he?
