Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

What a stain on an honorable Southern tradition to value your sworn word above everything else. That part stings for sure. We are supposed to be above that. All of us as Americans but especially as Texans. (pardon my pride)
I remember the Alamo. I don't remember ever in my life going there without shedding a few tears. And I lived in San Antonio at 2 different times in my life and went there frequently. Going to the San Jacinto battleground is a similar experience. Texas History is one of my other side-line hobbies. It's hard to imagine these sorry low-life scum-sucking dems being at all involved with that kind of heritage. This is not how people behave in my state. Even 10 years ago (as you said before the Klintoons) I can't imagine the dems being this disrespectful to the state.
I also lived in Austin in 1979 when the original Killer Bee walkout happened. That was a different issue. These guys are comparing themselves to the ones in '79. I was not impressed in '79 either but this time it's got a much worse stink than it did then. Not sure if it's real or only because I'm older and more involved now. I was involved then too.... just not as passionately as now.
Excuse me but I need to say this: A real Texan does not walk out! A real Texan stays and fights (in this case legislatively) to the finish. WE do not run and WE do not hide. Those guys are a blight on my state. Thank you. It feels good to get that out.
I will be going to Ardmore tomorrow IF they are still there. I will behave like any good southern lady would behave but I will not sit here and not go there and express myself. They are only about 100 miles from here and I will not sit idly.

I'd like to also put an appropriate quote from the books here...any suggestions? I wonder if they copied that book from my freshman research paper...my topic was "Christlike Symbolism in The Lord of the Rings."
I have it around her somewhere, but I don't know where.
I would think something that addresses either Gandalf's return - the description of his appearance signifying the resurrection or the way Aragorn is described at the coronation.
To: JenB
Excellent! Congrats! You may move to the head of the class.
To: Alkhin
Corin, for some reason my own link up with my own blog isnt working either... I just checked and my graphics aren't loading...let me know how your new site works out. I'd hate to have to pack and move again. I'm almost to the point of just hosting it on my own and when I can getting my own domain...
To: Wneighbor; SuziQ
Wasn't that a sweet thing for him to say to me this morning? I may be dwarvish, but I am first a southernor.
To: HairOfTheDog; Wneighbor; RMDupree; ksen; g'nad
Corin.... hope you mostly behaved today. Sigh...why is it always about me????
(hurry back g'nad, bring the dwarvling...)
To: Corin Stormhands
I may be dwarvish, but I am first a southernor. Well this southerner is going to practice her G.R.I.T.S. charm in Ardmore tomorrow. It's almost like I'm off on a religious war today Corin. I'm just not willing to sit here and take no action when Ardmore is about 100 miles away.
So, you do have a good idea of something that I can put on my poster sign? It's still blank. I need something catchy.
To: JenB; HairOfTheDog; ksen
You and ksen put too much stock in oceans. Silly girl.
To: Scott from the Left Coast
Best of luck Scott.
To: Corin Stormhands
(hurry back g'nad, bring the dwarvling...) Do we know if the dwarvling is a boy or a girl????
To: Wneighbor
Good luck in Ardmore tomorrow... hope you have fun giving them what-for!
To: JenB; HairOfTheDog
Yah. That'll help when the mile-high wall of water hits. You believed The Poseidon Adventure didn't you Jen?
To: Bear_in_RoseBear
Hum. Well, I know they're not about to let me near them. I could give 'em a good old fashioned mad-as-a-hornet mother lecture if they got in earshot though. Mainly, I want to be there to counter the dems that were marching in support of them in that parking lot today. They are just stupid. Flat stupid.
Got any ideas for my poster?
To: Wneighbor
So, you do have a good idea of something that I can put on my poster sign? Off the top of my head, nuthin' too ladylike. But let me ponder on it and I'll see if I can post a few ideas in the a.m.
To: Corin Stormhands
Okay, I'll check in before I take Myranda to school. I'm leaving from dropping her off at the school to go up.
To: Wneighbor
Yes. It's a boy or a girl.
Sorry, I had one car bomb too many to remember if they told me.
Yes, I only had one.
To: Wneighbor
Got any ideas for my poster?
I tried to think of something clever, but my puzzler is broke. It's been a busy day here.
To: Wneighbor; Bear_in_RoseBear
G'nite. See y'all in the a.m.
To: Wneighbor
I get back from working up a freep of the runaway dems in OklahomaOK. you're probably in bed now, but did you find anyone else to Freep them with you? What did you put on your signs? That is just so cool! Maybe you'll get your picture in the paper and 2J will see it locally!!
To: Corin Stormhands
I may be dwarvish, but I am first a southernor.Southern Dwarves are (almost) always Gentlemen!
