Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

Okay all, I have emailed the photo of the care package from the Hobbit Hole to my daughter to 300Winmag to post. So, I wanted to print the list of the items so you have a text list to go with the photo when he posts it. There is another package from the Hobbit Hole that will go out to my son-in-law when I get the books from 2J. I will post that photo and list then. This is Jill's half.

DVD - Legally Blonde (it's her - if you meet her you will know)

3 Packages Beef Jerky - she loves it and can't get what she likes there

3 packages peach candy - ditto, same as jerky

2 bottles nail polish (pink - see note on DVD)

2 pads pink note paper

2 jars Lawry's Lemon Pepper - any other brand will NOT work for her

1 bottle Heinz 57 sauce - for her chicken fry - she doesn't do gravy, she does Heinz 57

Some of those items may sound weird but ya'll told me to get her what I knew she would want. So, that was what I did. Thanks all. It's in the mail!

Hey Corin. I know that people looked down on blacks and considered them to be an inferior race when they were slaves, but did they *hate* them then? Or did the hatred come in later, after reconstruction, etc.?

How is everything, Ruthy? Has your Mom recovered pretty much? Jeanne didn't want to fight the Sunday evening crowds either for Mother's Day, we had a quiet dinner here.

I messed up a tendon last week, Jeanne is trying to use that as an excuse to avoid dancing lessons. I think I am Ok to start back, though, a little.

Everything from foxtrot to swing to salsa. You should see me trying to do salsa, a ridiculous sight. This stuff doesn't come to me very easily. It looks cool when the instructor does it, however.

I just finished boiling up some chicken tenders for Matthew. I ran the broth through a coffee filter and took out all the little pieces so it's very clear. Then I put the chunks of tender back in and he's eating it well.
