Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

Hey Hair! When Steve and I were house shopping years ago, we were looking at a farm and there was this little black banty rooster strutting around. This poor rottweiler was just minding it's own business when that little banty ASSAULTED him! It was the funniest thing Steve and I ever saw! I swear that chicken wasn't six inches tall and that rottweiler was terrified of it!

We did it, but I wouldn't reccommend it:). Took 17 yrs to finish:), mostly because we just got tired of being do-it-yourselfers. The plumbing was actually easy, we had JW's do the wiring, but we did aaallllll the rest. We built the barn the shop the arena. Well actually my son did the barn. He gets stuck doing alot of the maintence around here now-a-days. In the winter when work slows down him and the crew do stuff around here to get hours.. So now it's not so bad.

I saved you phone # to a file and when the chicks hatch will let you know, by phone or here. I will be 3 wks from yesterday. It is amazing how they start hatching like clockwork from the time I start them. So mark it down so you will be ready.

Ok! I'll mark it on the calendar. Where did you get the eggs? You might have told me and I might have missed it...it's been known to happen!

My eldest jedi barfed in the night. He woke me up barfing on a towel(good boy)in the hallway. But he had already let loose of everything he had off the side of of his bed (thank you Lord he didn't mess up his bed at all!) Unfortunatly, he's on a top bunk and it came down like a waterfall right by my youngest's head. I went in and found my youngest sitting up in his bottom bunk muttering "Too bad! Too bad!" You could see where a waterfall of vomit had come down. Sigh. 2am and we're cleaning the carpet.

None got on the bed, than goodness...just the carpet and the wall and various toys. Sigh.

You missed it:) My eggs came from my own chickens. Fertile eggs stay good for 10 days at room temp. So I gathered eggs for 8 days. I got 39. I don't think anymore would fit in my incubator. Will be really crowded as they hatch:). Did you know that you can hear the chicks peeping a day or two before they hatch. I thought that was the neatest thing.

Yep, he did that. And I think he may have even voted for Gore. But he's allowed to hang around, mostly on the War of Northern Agression threads.

You know I don't try to re-fight that battle. I know a lot of what the South stood for was wrong. Still I can respect my ancestors (who indeed fought for the Confederacy).

I just get really po'd with damnyankees like Wlat (Whiskey Papa) who act all high and mighty about pure motives of the North. EVERYBODY was a racist in frickin' 1862...

Well, I was away for a while. But, I haven't been to Home Depot yet. Can't go for a while now. I have red mud all over me. I have to shower.

I went outside to put some stuff in the pickup so I could run an errand after I went to Home Depot. I saw the spot in the front yard where NOTHING will grow. I thought to myself, "Hmmm, if spearmint won't grow there NOTHING will. and. If that spearmint wasn't where it is now, I could plant an extra couple of tomatoes there."

And as Picard would say next, "make it so." and i did. Now, I'm tired, hot, sticky, I probably have the beginnings of dwarf odor. And I will be showering and resting before Home Depot sees me. (red mud might not be impressive in Galadrial hair)
