The Hobbit Hole III - Journey to the Cross-roads!

Posted on 12/17/2002 7:32:02 AM PST by HairOfTheDog

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Journey to the Cross-roads

The Two Towers Edition

Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)

Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

I don't worry so much about it during the day, but I feel kinda trapped here and it being night...

Got this off the thread that is monitoring...

"Tulsa TV 8 reporting no apparent weakening of the storm as it moves through Chandler/Stroud toward Bristow/Sapulpa/Tulsa"

Steve is home too isn't he? You know you have angels all around you. :-) Well, if you don't remember it for a minute, I remember. I will be staying up till this is over.

Thanks! Yes, I just got STeve up, we're getting our shoes back on and everything...I'm going to log off.

You know the town I'm in, right? If any Hole Dweller wants to know and if you hear it on the news (God forbid!) you can freepmail it to them.

Logging off now...calling my mom who lives just down the street.

Watch for my town! I hope it isn't blowing by you when you see it!

We are often just referred to as South Tulsa...

I know you're probably logged off now. But, feel free to call even if just to calm the nerves because the storm is gone. I am staying up. Lawton TV is giving live coverage.

Oh, and call for any reason the least bit more serious than calming nerves. (hoped that was obvious)

Well, the big storm is slow, it's still a good bit west of 2J. But, right now on the radar there's one storm going north of her and another going south of her. Just like God hearing our Hobbit Hole prayers and spliting the action leaving 2J safe right in the middle.

Looking out for 2J. Any prayer warriors awake? They now say the big storm will go south of Tulsa. Don't know how far south.

It's a lot harder to sit at home and follow these than to get out in a vehicle and chase them.

My dad and younger sister play Everquest a lot - I mean eight hours straight on Saturdays, sometime. I understand a lot of the game is shaped by which server you play on, that some servers are "safe" and others are not. There are a lot of teens who play EQ, my sister is 16 and has never been in any kind of bad situation there.

However it's pretty addictive, so you might want to avoid it anyway...

Hohum, I watched four hours of anime and had a hot bath. Now it's 1:30 and I can't type straight. Perhaps I should go to bed.

My news channel in Oklahoma just went off. ??? Last report was they expect that storm to go through south Tulsa. which is where 2J is.

But, our God can turn that storm. Or calm it.

There have been several from OKC east. They aren't to Tulsa yet unless they just got there. You know I'm html limited. Previous page Bear has a link to a current post following this.

I saw the thread on it, 2J is just South of Tulsa, at the red star....

Current weather map: National Weather Service Radar Image - Short Range Base Reflectivity - Tulsa, OK

2J..... check in with us when you can!

Just got in...we went over to my mom's house. The sirens went off and we all huddled in her bathroom under her stairway. Torrential rains and some hail, high winds. Just got in and found no damage to our home, although apparently just down from us got some. I'll check it out tomorrow.

I'm exhausted and have lost my equilibrium again! Good night all...thanks for thinking of me!
