Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

I know what you mean. I've usually been more of a morning person, but now that my work schedule has changed my sleep pattern, I am finding that I do my best work this time of day. Or night. Whatever.

Glad you're okay 2J. I saw some of the devastation this morning's news. I think tornados would scare me more than hurricanes. You can usually have time to get out of the path of a hurricane.
Also glad you were able to check in. Tell Steve we said that as long as it's tornado season, he'll have to tolerate you getting on line to let us know you're okay.

I just think this name thing is pretty weird. I haven't known THAT many of us through my life. Granted "Corin" is a little more common than your name. ;-)
But there were six of us by the same name in my high school graduating class of 150.

Good morning! It's FRIDAY!!!
2J, glad to hear you're OK. I heard about the tornados on the radio, but hadn't been in to check here yet and I was worrying about ya!
The community choir I'm in had their spring concert last night. Went pretty well, though there was one piece I never could get and we didn't have as much time to prepare as we should have (IMO). I ended up mouthing most of the words. Oh well! I did better on others!

Not really, but good morning! Well, thanks. It's just that sometimes it gets wearying being the sole source of bad behavior in the Hobbit Hole...I'm not changin', I just want company (I miss g'nad).
Sheesh! I take one day off and they get stoopid on me again. Walked in to an email regarding one of our Boards. The Board is required to meet four times in the fiscal year. I've been reminding my supervisor and our director of that since January (FY ends June 30). But our Board chairman is notoriously spineless with regard to agreeing to a meeting date. He often misses the prom because he's holding out for a better invitation offer...
So I've been given a series of dates for June and have to contact EVERY FRICKIN' BOARD MEMBER to see which dates work.
Grow some equipment. Pick a date. Get on with it.

teehehee. Our team leader called a mtg at 1100 yesterday. We waited until 1130 (mainly 'cause we were gossiping) and she didn't show. Then we have to rearrange our whole afternoon so we could meet again at 1330. lol. Fortunately it was a useful meeting.
Can't complain- I could be teaching. ;)
