Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

I got the precious. And no one preach to me about it not being an honest snaig. That is what you say when you did not win the precious. I call that sour grapes!! :)

Well, I will eventually need to get another dog. I can't get one as long as I have Smeagol. She is just too bad around other animals. And it's not from being mean so much as being mistreated for years. I think she's getting on in years and so I don't really want to MAKE her accept someone else. She can have all the attention just like she wants for whatever these other years are. And possibly, when Myranda gets out of Master's Commission, since Smeagol is really "her" dog Smeags will go to where ever Myranda goes. Then, I can get a real dog again.
My oldest daughter got a male doberman once. He was the sweetest thing. I actually bred him to my wolf hybrid. Those were the cutest pups. Of course, there were people questioning my wisdom in that breed. But I know one guy that still has one of those old dogs and he is great.
I really do like larger animals a lot better. I don't know, they just seem more companionish to me. Wyn just has that look about her that says we'd get along quite nicely!

I don't know winmag's answer, but he didn't answer yet so I'm putting in my 2 cents worth. When I had the wolves, I started when they were little and would play and pin them often and well. I didn't ever have any that were aggresive with me or the girls. I never know of one being aggresive toward any person other than someone coming into our yard without our okay (It was fenced.) Of course, they would hunt rabbits and such. But, as long as people were away from their yard and their people they were good. And I wrestled often and pinned them.

Well, guess who was on my doorstep when I arrived home this evening!
Why Mr. Frodo of course! He was quite happy to get out of his box and get some dinner. He arrived in excellent condition and endured curious sniffs from my cats. I'll take some pics as soon as I vaccum and then he and I will discuss where to begin our adventure...

We saw an Australian Shepherd in a pet store once. What a cute dog!! One eye was green and the other was blue! It had the silver/black/grey coloring.
The red ones DO look like dingoes! What color are yours?

Who knows anything about refinancing a house?SSQ's the expert. I think we re-financed 6 times in the last two years. We've been riding the interest rates down during that time. I think we've got it down to 5.75% now.
Tell me what you need to know and I'll get the answers from him.
