The Hobbit Hole III - Journey to the Cross-roads!

Posted on 12/17/2002 7:32:02 AM PST by HairOfTheDog

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Journey to the Cross-roads

The Two Towers Edition

Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)

Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

Rosie will hit me with the big stick if I start swooning over Samwise again. :(

You'd probably get a better rate staying in Orlando than anywhere else! LOL!

Stiff competition there.

Well, I'll check. I'd rather be further up the road if I could.

If it doesn't work...here it is... Musical Priest with a mighty flub-up at the end.

You know, if we can swing it, we should all have an early dinner at Medievel Times in Orlando.

It is soooo much fun!

See for yourself!

Is it family friendly? The place I've heard about (not in Orlando, but a similar place) was pretty bawdy.

Made a 100% on his final exam.

Good for him! Does he get a treat?

Our #1 son was nominated to Phi Beta Kappa; we took him out for an ice cream treat on Sunday! LOL!

It's a HUGH castle and each seating area is designated a color (there are six sections). The color represents your knight, the one you root for in the sword fighting and jousting competition.

Everyone is in costume and the serving wenches bring food and drink to your table but NO SILVERWARE! You must eat in true Medieval style. :)

At the end of the show, which includes awesome equestrian displays, the winning knight picks a princess from his group of diners. Usually the princess is someone's little girl. When I was there, our blue knight lost but the victorious green knight chose this adorable 6 year old girl who donned a cute princess hat and the knights sang to her!

Jr. read the book and wants to see it also.

Joseph is not a big reader, though he has been devouring the Harry Potter books. I gave him "Holes" last week and he had finished it in TWO days! He really enjoyed it, so when he saw the movie was playing, asked to see it. We all enjoyed it tremendously!

Maybe we could go for coffee and dessert one evening while we're there?? Sounds like the kids would love it. And me too!

Isn't it terrible!?

I went in 1995 and, if memory serves, they served us cornish hens and corn and yeast rolls - delish! You had to eat everything with your hands so they supplied bowls of water to wash up in. So nice!
