The Hobbit Hole III - Journey to the Cross-roads!

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

2JM; yup, we're fine even the hail stopped a few blocks away, it did rain like a big dog though for a little while. I posted a couple of notes about 5 pm sunday, give or take a bit.
Mgnt. passed along an email from unitedway, seems redcross only wants money donations, Salvation Army wants volunteers with heavy equipment now and hand labor volunteers later on, they'll also take donations of supplies. hmmm. redcross just wants the money. hmmm.

Glad you checked in! - I was concerned about you! Been seeing images of what a disaster it was in some parts.

A devil? Not that little cutie!

Hair; thanks, wasn't the first, won't be the last; just another fringe benifit of Midwestern living. right 2JM?
Need to find a good tranquilizer for Samantha, though. Somehow, Wayside Waifs didn't mention she doesn't relate well to thunderstorms, she tries to dig through the wood floor and gets a bit wild eyed, panting (hyperventilating is more like it). Just part of the 'quirks' I guess.

Glad to hear it. Keep an eye out for the Southern Baptist Disaster relief team...I'm sure they'll be there.
Someday I'm going to join up with them...when the boys are almost ready to leave. You can see their link at the bottom of my profile page.

Gidget needs tranquilizers at fourth of July, so I understand. I just knock her out. I have enough to contend with calming the horses!

Hello! I went to the bookstore tonight, read a collection of old sci-fi that was pretty good... also I have to buy the new Tad Williams book in hardcover. Sigh, I was hoping to wait for the paperback but it looks cool beyond words.

2J - I'll be sending some more money shortly. I'll put "Tang Contribution" in the memo line. Ha! I actually just saw this! I'm so sorry I didn't respond!
I did a little shopping today...the cheapest Tang I could find was at Walmart for about $4.50 for the Biggy container of it...not the short one.

Hi all. Sorry I missed breakfast, elevenses, lunch and all the other meals so far. Gave my first exam for the quarter this morning then we had a going away party for 2 co-workers who are leaving. I worked my buns off (wish I had worked a little off) this afternoon in my flower bed. Then, get this all you muscle car type guys - went to look at a 67 Firebird. $250. Of course it doesn't run. It's in a field. But, the body is way good for that price. There's only a small bit of rust on the right rear quarter panel. The hood is warped or something but that could be fixed and some bozo put a luggage rack on the trunk lid. But, other than that, for the money..... MMMMmmmm.
And no, I'm not buying it. Same reason I am concerned about being able to make it to entmoot. The blood from a turnip thing.
So, I'll start reviewing, or you can all just tell me what I've missed.
To: Wneighbor
hullo! You missed a lot of idle chit-chat and something or other!

Hello!
If you are meant to be at entmoot, it will happen. We will at least do a mini-moot, maybe get g'nad and Osagebowman and perhaps even Overtaxed to meet here in Tulsa?
I'm contemplating popping some corn...
