Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

I used to want to carry a paintball gun in the car and shoot rude drivers with it.... I figured, if everyone did it, the really rude drivers would have paint splotches all over their cars!
Course... It would go right through a window, and probably dent the car, but if the guy was really rude, it wouldn't really be wrong would it?

Well what Corin? :~D How 'bout...well, I've written my check for Entmoot.
'zat work for an honest snaig?
(ksen, it'll be in the mail in the a.m.)
To: Corin Stormhands
I haven't written mine yet, 'cuz I am still out of checks! - I can't believe I let myself run out of checks, but I sure am saving money this way, I can't pay any of my bills!

Okay, I've balanced the checkbook, paid the bills, written the check for Entmoot.
And I watched half of Moulin Rouge on the computer. But Windows Media Player doesn't want to seem to finish these disks for me. I finished Road to Perdition on the DVD and it looks like I'll have to do that with this too.
But it's too late tonite. Part of me is thinking about going to work out since I know I probably won't make it up at 4:00 to go...but then it would be after 3:00 before I got in bed. Not a wise choice.
So I'm going to bed and I'll work out tomorrow night...

I haven't written mine yet, 'cuz I am still out of checks! I have checks, but we use the Debit card so much I ran out of room in the check register. Gotta go pick up another one tomorrow...
g'nite

You night owls crack me up! I am actually a morning person by trade. But my schedule just won't let it happen that way. I took a nap this afternoon instead of doing this. Then when Luke was up from his nap, he wanted to play on the computer.
He's three. He can log on. Sign in past the McAfee security system (to his own account) and get to his favorite websites to play games.
We're looking for a pre-school typing tutor. Anybody know of one?
To: HairOfTheDog
Okay, I'm really gone now.
To: Corin Stormhands
'Mavis Beacon Teaches Typing' has typing games with it, kinda fun ones, where you have to type the words quickly, but I am not sure he could do them yet unless he is really reading already! - Maybe he could... they are just letters.

Hi!
Sorry, I've missed the Entmoot stuff.....I'll have to go hunting for it tomorrow when I have a few minutes.
My website is down, which means my email is down too. I've just sent them an angry message, and I'll have to look for a new web host....some place that can provide enough space for all those pictures.
Sorry I haven't been around lately, I've been horribly busy (I know, you've heard that one before)
I'm going to try to catch up...but not tonight, it's past my bedtime!
Have a good one, and hopefully I'll catch you later....

I figured, if everyone did it, the really rude drivers would have paint splotches all over their cars! Heh!! Our #1 son has been doing paintball for the last few months. St. Nick even brought him an Auto-Loader and a 20lb. tank! He does it for the physical activity. His other hobby is Warhammer. He loves painting the individual figures, then playing against other folks with them. He won a Warhammer tournament over in Harvard Square on Sat!
This is the one who's going to Law School in the Fall. Something tells me he's gonna be a little different from most folks he'll run into there!

Hullo Penny! Here is where the info is:

'Mavis Beacon Teaches Typing' has typing games with it... (okay, so I wasn't really gone, but I will be after this...honost...)
We got Mavis Beacon for Jr. But it starts at age 8. We'll probably just go with something like Jump Start for Pre-School. You know thinking about it, he could know where the letters are, but he can't reach them to type yet.
g'nite...really...

I don't mind talking about it! But, I'll use the Hidden Tongue for any possible spoilers, just in case...
What the heck is up with Wolverine? Who was he before he got adamantium bones?
Good question! I don't know that that has been settled in the Marvel Universe. Basically, when he first appeared he had no backstory; over the years, different writers have thrown in different ideas as to who and what he was before he got the adamantium. I think the "definitive" version is that he was some sort of secret agent who either volunteered, or didn't, to have the process done on him, to make him more effective. Basically, the bonding-adamantium-to-bones process only works on someone with the super-healing ability.
Who is the female version of Wolverine? I thought a particular mutation would only show up in one mutant, so why does she also have magic healing powers?
Some mutations do repeat and are more common than others, such as telepathy and telekinesis. Apparently, super healing is one of those. In the comics, Sabretooth (first movie) also has super-healing.
Is there more backstory with that Stryker guy than they gave us?
So far as I know, Stryker was invented for the movie. His son Jason, however, was based on an actual comics character: Jason Wyndgarde, a.k.a. Mastermind. His power in the comics was the ability to cast illusions into other people's minds; the mind-control ability was added for the movie.
Were Jean and Cyclops actually married, or just living together?
In the comics, they lived together at the mansion, but were eventually married. I'm not sure what their status is in the movie, but I don't think they're married. That may be coming in movie 3 or 4, though!
I'd love to see your comments, in a FReepmail if you don't want to post it here!

Good morning all. Happy Monday. It's a day off for me (part of my alternative work schedule) but I'll get no rest. We'll have the puppy until tomorrow. In fact, that's why I'm up at 0530 watching the Twilight Zone and FReeping. *sigh* Maybe I'll get a nap when he does....
To: Lil'freeper
Morning. Hope the Twilight Zone is a good one.
To: Lil'freeper
Morning...zzzzzz.....

To: Corin Stormhands; Overtaxed
