The Hobbit Hole III - Journey to the Cross-roads!

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

Smeagol didn't have time for such stuff and nonsense as precious snaigging... The dwarf notices it's only nonsense when Smeagol doesn't gets the precious...
(the dwarf is also guilty of neglecting his studies. won't be able to do that once he enrolls officially)

ROTK isn't coming out until May, 2004.... That's a nasty rumor that was an April Fool's joke over at TORN.
ROTK will be out in December.

The theater would cost us $600. That gets us their smallest theater (120 seats @ $5/seat).

Nonsense... it's only silly when Smeagol is off battling anti-semites and doesn't realize that a precious is up for grabs...
First honest precious I have ever gotten...

That won't be too bad then. We can settle on that later (unless you need to deposit early there as well). I just wouldn't want folks to be surprised at having to pay a little more than for a regular ticket.
To: ksen
30 individual Hobbit Hole Dwellers would have to pay $20 each to secure the theatre.
I'm in! And I'm sure Glen will pay the $20 easily to have the pleasure of our own theatre viewing!

Let me clarify... by cost, I don't mean transporation, etc. I mean staying, food, and theater rental.

We haven't decided if we are going to prorate the rent.
If we don't then it will cost $234 + a refundable $200 per person for 10 of us or, hopefully, $156 + a refundable $133 per person for 15 of us.
Prorating may be more pain than it's worth because people would probably still spend more than that on hotel rooms if they only came in for the weekend.

So, we are looking at - on average - More or less $400 per person for castle ($200 of it refundable), $50 for food per person (probably less if we go wholesale) and $20 per person for theatre seats.
Not bad at all!
I'll be buying liquor wholesale too. I'm buying only beer, rum, vodka, tequila and mixers. Ah...who am I kidding? I'm buying Tequila, Bailey's and some kind of whiskey too (taking requests)! :)

As far as the food goes, I'll be more than happy to handle the menus as long as someone hangs out with me while I cook so I don't feel left out of the action. I like to cook. I will help you cook. But, I also think maybe it ought to be shared so you don't have to DO all of it. Maybe part of your organization could be taking a list of people who might volunteer to take care of some meals so you don't have to do them all. I'd do one. Of course, I'd want a helper too.
