Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

Well, I'm kind of bummed tonight. It looks like my last roommate option is not working out, so I am back to the one-bedroom with no AC. It's not bad, but I could have saved another $100/month by sharing a 2-bedroom.
I'm on the day shift again tomorrow, so I better hit the hay. Good night.

Good morning! It's practically weekend here. I don't have to go to work this morning technically because we have honors convocation this afternoon. I have to wear the crap, and speak and give my departments honor student award.
The good part is, I am really proud of my student that's receiving the award. It's a young lady who has an incredible overcomers story. AND she's a vet, which makes her even more special to me.

You know, I've been thinking of constructing a still for water distillation in my house. We built one in organic chemistry. (we built another one for ethanol too) With Myranda leaving and just me in a 1750 sq ft house, I will now have room to do these off-beat things.

You know, 2J, I was thinking about your helicopter last night. If we carried out our previous plan of painting a flag on the roof, there might be a lot of special helicopter visits for you and your kids.
This just makes me want to paint one of my roof even more. Since yesterday showed that those guys are actually looking down and paying attention...... I'd like the guys from the air force here in town to be able to see my support that way.
