Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

(Hey everyone don't forget JenB's birthday is THURSDAY!!!! And today is Thursday.)
To: Wneighbor
Rose and I are going to be there Saturday for the 1 pm showing of "X-Men 2". My mouth is already watering!
Not sure yet when we're going to see "Matrix Reloaded", except that it will be on the first weekend of its release.

Just wonderin'...are the seats in your church padded?Padded seats in church? What's up with that? ;o)
To: HairOfTheDog
Just put my vote in! We may even talk SSQ's brother into joining us for a few days. We'll do the weekend in Melbourne, then maybe go over to the Orlando area for a couple more days.
To: Corin Stormhands
I'm willing to consider sleeping on a couch or the </floor. Not I!! My 'camping out' days are over!! I gotta have me a good bed!!
To: RMDupree; ksen
if folks really want their own space, they can always grab a hotel room nearby but the rental house will be the hang out zone! :) That may be what we'd do because it would be SSQ and me, and our 2 teenagers. What motels are near this house, ksen?
To: 300winmag
I hope you're right! I hope they've seen the kids and I down there waving like crazy! I'm thinking that they noticed us last week or so when they flew by and swerved over towards us a bit, and then figured out what we were doing this time and gave us the little gift.
I hope they were laughing and getting a big kick out of us going nuts in the yard below!

What motels are near this house, ksen?Good question! Rose and I would probably want a hotel room, too.
To: ksen
I doubt seriously if everyone on Ruthy's list will be coming, but you figure too high on the cost. The rent is $2,300, with the security deposit of $2,000. But if we leave the place ok, we should get that $2,000 back, so the final cost will be the $2335 + FL's lovely tourist taxes divided by the final # of people who want to go in on the house.

What a bunch of wimps! :~O
There are 5 bedrooms, you know.
To: SuziQ
The house won't work if at least 8-10 don't go in on it.... but I don't think that will be a problem.
To: Bear_in_RoseBear; SuziQ
Jeanne and I will most likely go the hotel route as well.

That is so cool that they painted his name on the side of the plane along with his 'handle', Commander in Chief!! I was listening to Laura Ingraham's show a couple of hours ago and she was just gushing about how great he looked in that 'jumpsuit'. A friend of hers, an older man who's a Korean war veteran called the show to correct her, and said that the suit was call his 'flight gear'.
She had been wondering how dumpy Bubba would have looked in that suit; my thought was the only jumpsuit I want to see x42 in is an ORANGE one with ankle bracelets!!
To: HairOfTheDog
The President didn't even have 'helmet hair' when he landed! How cool is that?
To: SuziQ
Yeah, that was great, his name under the canopy and him in that uniform thing.

There are 5 bedrooms, you know. The important question is, how many bathrooms?
To: HairOfTheDog
This is all very exciting, talking about the moot. Wonder how many of us will be coming to this "long expected party."
