The Hobbit Hole III - Journey to the Cross-roads!

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

Probably the nicest thing we could do is have a bunch of chili hot and ready for when he arrives. ;^) Hey, works for me. As I'm the Texan present and accounted for this morning, and chili is the Natioal Dish of Texas, let me do the honors. Pardon me Ruthie, I know you'll have breakfast shortly but I'm just putting out the goodies for the perspective guest in case he gets here before you have time to get the breakfast spread.
Here you go. Chili. No beans. I'll give you 3 choices just like the Texas Chili Parlor down yonder in Austin. Ya'll can take your pick from 1X, 2X or Triple X. Warning, the triple X has sent folks to the hospital. On the side I've got some fritos, saltines, grated cheese, jalapenos, chopped onions and a bowl of sour cream if you want to dress up your red.
Ice cream is in the freezer to cool the afterburn.
Drinks in the fridge, sorry no beer, I don't keep it around but I'm sure a dwarf can take care of that for you.
Enjoy. And everybody be sure and let the guest in line if front of you. There is enough for everyone.

OK, so far as I know. I don't want to know much. ;-)
I don't do much with that brother, actually. For some reason, we rub each other the wrong way...always have. He's lucky I didn't strangle him before he got to be bigger 'n me.

Where are the rest of the early folks? Waaa...! There's stuff in my unknowns and I have to keep doing this stinking rice extraction! </whine /rant

Students were required to do design projects and today they have to do a presentation as though they were selling their design. Hope someone thinks and realizes that you usually bring donuts and coffee when you're doing a sales pitch. When I contracted at Kelsey Hayes, I suggested they invest a mere $10K for a desktop CNC machine, so that they could cut wax models of their Catia designs. The part could then be spray painted to look like metal.
I mentioned that to an account manager, who was putting in a bid on a big contract for steering arms at Chrysler. He said, "No, but I'd better bring in TWO boxes of donuts when I make my pitch."
I've always liked stereolithography for making samples of small parts, but the equipment is a bit expensive.

be on your best behavior and no stomping off the thread today...... Okay.
No Problem.

Tee hee! (Corin, I must be the most immature-minded person on this thread since I laugh out loud at the rude noises every single time!)
I'm here folks!!
I see that Wneighbor has set out the chili, so I'll just get the rest of breakfast ready.

You guys did great!
Pippin, you only missed #9.
Hair, you only missed #5.
They were looking for something a bit more specific in #'s 4 and 7 but both your answers are close enough for me. ;^)

Alrighty..here we are!
Coffee first - strong and steaming! Juices, tea and hot cocoa are ready to serve as well. I've got the eggs fried and grits boiled. 6 platters of bacon and sausage links are on the table next to the baked honey ham I had roasting all night. Corin..please carve the ham gently...with the small axe, if you please.
4 loaves of fresh baked banana nut bread are in the covered basket and the creamy butter is in the tray along side it. ENJOY!
JenB - no cake today! I'm preparing it for tomorrow! *wink*
ksen - I'll set aside a plate in case your friend arrives or else there will be no meat left!
Hair - What a wonderful tribute to your babies! My eyes are still stinging from reading the poem. I miss my poor ol' dude (Dino).
