The Hobbit Hole III - Journey to the Cross-roads!

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

The Hole Dwellers have put up nearly (or maybe even more than) a thousand dollars toward the care packages I've sent and I don't believe any of them (well, maybe two or three) even know his last name. of course we know his last name. It's Chaplain. First name Renegade.
That wouldn't be a bad first name for my grandson now would it?
To: Wneighbor
now i will be beaten right? If only I had real power I would not be mocked! ;~D

Yeah, but are you gonna name him PEREGRIN????? NOOOO... They won't let me name any boys. Nobody likes my boy's names. If Myranda was a boy I was going to name him Thunder. I think the whole family breathed a sigh of relief when SHE was born because the midwife had already said that I was the one going through the childbirth process and she would put what I told her on the cert.

I like it!
Time to get supper...I wonder what we're going to have? I guess I won't know till I get in there and fix it! LOL

Good evening!
Why was Helen kidnapped at the beginning.
They didn't really give a reason in the movie, as I recall. In the myth, it was a combination of Theseus being on a lark, and being enraptured by Helen's beauty. She was rescued by her brothers Castor and Polydeuces (Pollux) but Theseus escaped alive.
shouldn't they have gotten a beautiful woman to portray her?
I agree, the actress was conventionally pretty, but not striking or beautiful. Except for one portion of her anatomy that got shown more than once... that was very striking! Beautiful, even! Uhm, but I don't know that I'd launch a thousand ships over that one feature....

Did you get my email?
We're thinking of sending off another batch of books. I've asked the chaplain if he thought they would be well-received, and I'm waiting for an answer.
If so, can I get some more of those nice nifty labels?

Hi there, bye there... I got in late and hung out with my parents, so I'm on my way to bed. Just had to check and make sure nothing earthshattering had happened.

Okay, just a quick check in and a slap back on the "other" forum. I know. I know. I know. But some things simply cannot go unanswered...
Good game tonite. We won 4-3. Jr. got a run.
But they WALKED HIM. He's standing up there with a new bat that we paid 80 bucks for AND THEY WALKED HIM. I'm on the sidelines yelling "Don't walk that expensive bat..." (okay, I really just said it to the parents sitting next to me). But it's a good bat.
And sadly, 80 bucks is not a lot to pay for a bat these days...sigh...
I'm off. Trying to get to bed so I can get up at an indecent hour and go to work out...
