Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

He just asks just about every time he writes me...wants our prayers more than anything.
If you have a way of informing people that they are being prayed for, send it to me and I'll pass it on! You know, a "We prayed for you today" kinda thing.
The Hole Dwellers have gone above and beyond in the giving department...I just want him to know that we pray for him and the soldiers too.

I just checked a website for info about Master and Commander, and it is a combination of a couple of different stories, so it's not just like the book I read. Billy is playing the part of Barrett Bonden, was one of the ship's crew in M&C. When that crew was broken up, Bonden was chosen to join the crew Jack Aubrey put together for his next ship.

For the "Renagade Chaplain" and all the soldiers with the 82nd Airborne Division in Afghanistan.
The would love it, Suz...I just know it would make them feel so good to know that someone in the world thought enough of them to pray for them and even put it in their church bulletin!

Woohoo!! The
new Hobbit Hole site is finally active! It'll still be a while (at least a week or two) before I can get everything uploaded and finalized, but I'll let you know when you can update your links.
I have an extra part-time job for a few weeks, doing some software testing for the company where I used to do tech support, so I'll be kind of scarce for a while. I'll pop in as often as possible so you know I'm still alive.

Glad to hear you are passing.
I was thinking about Junior earlier... It suddenly occurred to me that he is 13 and taking French. I had known both things before, but never put them together. We didn't have foreign language even available at that age, I am sure of it, I took two years of French in my junior and senior year in High school. The somewhat artistic and cultural interest in a foreign language might be lost on a lot of 13 year olds. Not excusing him really, just wondering if that is now common curriculum at that age?
