Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

What a fabulous photo, I'd love to be on that island. Maybe it could have been easier to keep the car on the beach and get back and forth with a boat.

The pennywhistles were such an awesome idea. Maybe not for the people who have to listen to them learn. :)
Indeed... time will tell.

Yes, Easter is more important than Christmas. For Christians, without Easter, Christmas is meaningless.
I think there are a lot of ways we can celebrate without denying the importance or the holiness of a holiday.
The Mrs. and I believe that God created all things, and that all things are for His creation to enjoy. We have Madeline L'Engle's "Fairy Tale" prayer around the ceiling in Luke's room. I can't quote it but it says "Thank you, God, for fairy tales" and it goes on to say that nothing has been imagined that you (God) have not already imagined.

That was pretty harmless Sam. I agree with Corin that offensive thing is that we've let unbelievers hijack our holidays and then sue us to prevent any mention of Jesus from being made in connection with the hijacked holidays.
*scratch* *scratch* I just reread the above and have no idea what I am saying. Oh well, maybe you guys can figure it out......
...IT'S FRIDAY!!!!!!!!!
Me and the Mrs. have a room booked at one of the local hotels out on the beach. My in-laws are watching the kids all night so we can have a good date night. So I'll be cutting out around 3:00pm here.

Me and the Mrs. have a room booked at one of the local hotels out on the beach. Hmmmm....lessee....April, May, June (count, count, count)...
It's April 18. Little late to be working on tax deductions. Isn't it?
To: Corin Stormhands
You know what they say.....pratice makes perfect. All of our three children were C-sections. Tami went two weeks over on the first two and the doctor tried to induce her into labor for about three days on each of them. She never went into labor so we ended up having them via C-section.
After the second section the doctor asked what we were going to do if we had a third. And we said we'd just schedule the C-section and not bother trying to have the baby naturally.
Anyway, she got pregnant again and we ended up scheduling the C-section for December 30th. We were tempted to try for the first baby of the new year, but the tax implications is what drove that decision. Is that bad or what? ;^)
As for getting pregnant again, it'd have to be a miracle since I was fixed after the last one. I figured she'd gone under the knife enough, it was my turn.

Did you notice the reply on that thread lamenting that we now have "spring baskets" and "happy spring." As if Happy Easter and Easter baskets are no longer acceptable in American (socialist, really) society. I haven't seen other religions coming in for this sort of treatment. That's probably because the Left, for the time being, sees the other religions as a lever it can use to destroy the primary American religion, which, in turn is, used to be I mean, one of the foundations of our value system.
David Horowitz (who spent the greater part of his life as a radical leftist, before finally seeing the light), in his autobiography notes that the Left always does what it can to destroy America, specifically targeting institutions and customs that sustain traditional values.
Of course, the Left has always been anti religion. Sad that they have succeeded in infiltrating much of our religious leadership.

Just barely, but still wet coming off it. I took a paper napkin and inserted a piece of plastic to guard between the leak and the floor (so water from the floor wouldn't soak onto the paper napkin) and slipped it under the leak. You can see it is getting wet.
I've already contacted the plumber.
Oh...

2J, if it is (hopefully) still leaking from that elbow, or somewhere nearby in the hot water pipe, it shouldn't be a very big deal.

I figured she'd gone under the knife enough, it was my turn. Been there. Done that.
I think I've shared this. After my cancer and treatment, we thought we were done. Then 10-year-later, the Mrs. gets pregnant. As my doctor said "It only takes one..."
Not that we would've considered trying again at our age. But the Mrs. had two very difficult pregancies, and another as a risk we couldn't take.
Funny thing is, while Luke was being delivered the doctor was going to go ahead and "take care of things" with the Mrs. In the middle of the process he said "are you sure you want to do this" with the implication that if Luke didn't make it we'd try again.
I guess we were caught up in the moment, cause we both said, "let's wait." Then it was my turn.

It's still leaking!! Say it isn't so. Can you get the guy back?
Did you turn him off too soon?
To: 2Jedismom
This is the hot water pipe, right? So no chance it could just be condensation?
Darn! What a drag!
I still have to make up my mind about whether I'm gonna attempt to fix my kitchen sink problem or call a plumber. It seems like it should be simple, so I hate to spend extra bucks on a plumber, but...
To: Sam Cree
LOL!!
Yes, I've already called him back...It's obviously leaking...the paper towel is now soaked.

If I can live through 6 yrs of my son and his trumpet.. :( well, I'm sure where they are they could stand a little whistle playing, even if it is not perfect. And some will likely come back from this war with a new interest and talent for it. Great!
Corin, I have no regard for anyone who has the time to be so sensitive as to be offended at such humor.
Happy Easter to everyone!
