The Hobbit Hole III - Journey to the Cross-roads!

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

My gosh, this is a gloomy day in the Hole.
Prayers for your brother and uncle, and grandmother too, to behave, and you too, to get through the next few days, Jen.
But you are lucky to have an interest that really motivates you, and life to look forward to and faith to get you through it, along with appreciation for the many things you enjoy.
But I'm just as glad I'm not in your shoes for the next few days, I don't deal so well with unwanted guests. I'm usually 3 steps ahead of a fit when certain of my in laws are here.

A friend's husband bought her a 9MM on their first anniversary, I assume that means it is going well. .45ACP, when you care enough to give the very best.
To: 300winmag
She might hurt somebody if she had a 45!

That is a cool plant! I wonder if Wneighbor would like to grow some in her yard...?
To: Sam Cree
Thanks, Sam. That's really quite comforting.

You have my sympathies.
I have found that my appreciation for my family grows in direct proportion to my distance from them.
At ~1500 miles distance, they're ok.
To: Bear_in_RoseBear; Wneighbor
I'm not too convinced they would grow so far north, although I reckon it could be done easily enough indoors in a pot.

Thanks guys. I'm gonna go lie down and eat some chocolate and read before bed. I will try to work something out to be on this weekend. I'll go shaky if I can't!
See you tomorrow, I hope.

Hair; lol, most of the blackpowder gun club regulars I know are 40 something, er. 50 something or so. The trap shooting leagues are a bit younger. Still not many women shooters, though.
Suziq; had'nt thought about it that way. Guess I was. wow, just figured up that was 33 years ago.
To: osagebowman
Well, maybe it is my particular club... My friend and I were 30 years younger than most of the members... most have made it through most of the 60's!

300wm: my guess it was good ol' Ploy Number 3 for him to get that new gun he's been wanting, "Gee, Hon, lookee here what I got YOU for your/our (insert special occasion here). :-)
To: JenB
Good night, Jen.

Hair: most had made it through most of the 60's ?
Well, for some of my cohorts, the sixties are vividly etched in their memories, others understand that 60's did happen (they just don't remember what) and a couple still think it is the sixties.
To: osagebowman
Heh... not the era, the age of 60's!

From one of those "Bush to support AW ban renewal" threads.
To: Dan from Michigan
What should we do about it?
How about first putting all these stupid comments on one thread?
These idiotic single puny issue vanity threads have been appearing two or three times a day for the last week.
Why don't you all get your own "rapid fire automatic weapon lovers" hole (such as the Hobbit Hole) and post it all there?
Sheesh.
