Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

You're the best, WN!
I may take you up on that! The BIG doozy only takes a minute to tell, but a while to absorb.
Note to everyone regarding the DOOZY: I am NOT really a man, I do NOT have any terminal illness or VD of any sort, I am NOT a Democrat, I am NOT anyone famous in disguise.
It has to do with a situation in my life.

Aleve is the best thing to take (two...not three!), especially if it's pleurisy, which is an inflammation between the outer layer of the lung and the inner layer that lines the cavity your lungs are in. It can be caused by excessive coughing and smokers get it more often than non-smokers.
I wish you would quit. I just know the horrors of it. I've seen people gasping and begging for air as they took their very last breaths. I'm not talking lung cancer, I'm talking the results of years of smoking...lung cancer is a smoker's short cut to death. I've watched patients so overcome with emphasema die sitting upright, hanging over their tray table, trying to get more air.
It's an addiction...I know. It would be the biggest fight of your life to overcome it. I just beg you to. For you, for your family...your kids and for those grandkids that would yearn to have known you if you leave too soon.
I will take you out to eat, if you quit, after one year. Anywhere you want to go. I've made this promise numerous times and I've only been taken up on it twice. Won't you make it the third?
End of sermon.
(I wanted to say this to Hair too...to save me the effort later on...call me lazy!)

At least I have enough southern lady manners to say, "No thank you" with a smile. Heh. I'm married to a G.R.I.T.S. Them "southern lady manners" can be deadly.

Anywhere you want to go. Well, there's this little bistro in New Zealand...
To: Corin Stormhands
LOL I'd pay for the gift certificate at the restaurant...it's up to Ruthy to get there!
I did take one girl out to eat at a restaurant that cost over $100 after we were done. I had a blast.
The other time I did it, I just took the girl to get a burger...it's what she wanted!

I'm waiting for the plumber...should be here in 30 minutes. I have a fresh pot of coffee for them, just ready to be turned on, and bought some nice frosted "easter egg" cookies for them to snack on...

You need some of 2J's medicine and some of OT's catnip tea. That catnip tea works! I'll have to see if I can dig some dried nip out of the pantry: Chester the Neighbor Cat rolls in the fresh stuff and it's all beaten up. :)
But catnip is a mint so it keeps putting out!

Them elves are gonna want lembas...that fru fru food can't be cheap...Maybe it could be improved by putting Cheeze Whizz on it, or a jalapeno dip.

or a jalapeno dip. Mrs. g'nad whipped up a mighty fine batch of stuffed jalapenos for Dwarf-moot.

Well, I done did it. My briefing is over with and it went well. Don't know why I got so stressed over it- after all, trying to explain some computer stuff to engineers and physicists who've been using Unix since before I was born is a piece of cake. Ack!! But it was well received and I'm SO THANKFUL IT'S OVER WITH!!!!!
Whew!
Most of all, thanks for the axe- it was put to good use on an annoying lady who kept asking the same dumb question over and over.
To: Lil'freeper; RMDupree
Well done. Congrats.
Ruthy's a little under the weather, so we're ordering out for lunch.
Can we get you something to help celebrate?
To: Overtaxed
They aren't here yet...I'm getting offline just in case they try to call. Talk you later...

To: RosieCotton
LOL! The only thing worse would be an elf who cooks with french cheeses.
