Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

Take that with about 3 Aleve and you should be ok until morning. 2J will definitely have something to say about that! I do not wish to be scolded by nurses anymore than I have been already!

Ma'am I am wounded. I feel as though General Sherman has just march across my soul... American by birth. Southern by the Grace of God.
Apologies for wounding. Us southerners got to stick together. I was just approached in person here at work again about supper arguing with yankees.
At least I have enough southern lady manners to say, "No thank you" with a smile.

You really are under it! It's obvious where the source of your trouble came from. Do take one (or maybe two, depending on your tolerance!) glass of wine and put on some music that YOU especially like -- doesn't have to be soothing or quiet, just something you particularly like (it can be wild and loud if that's how you like it -- if the Rolling Stones at top volume does it, then do that). Let yourself escape a bit. For me, strenuous exercise, especially something really challenging, clears my mind (I forget everything else when I'm barrelling down a mountainside at 40 mph on my skis). And it's clearing your mind of the problems is what you most need. However, gentler exercise might be the ticket if you aren't used to the "extreme" sports!
You have a tremendous number of really dicey "issues" in your life, and I expect your system is trying to tell you that you've overloaded -- a little pre-warning before something really bad happens.
I'll tell you a little personal story: My stress, as always, was job related. And it ended up in a really big crisis where I was very wrongfully used as a scapegoat by some very big cowards who hold very big positions. And they forced me out of my job, which was a really good paying, high-status job. So I negotiated a decent serverence and just tossed it all in -- rather than fight them to keep myself in this job, and allow them to make every single day a living misery for me while I fought to preserve "my place". I was stressed to the max -- I wasn't even myself, I was so nervous all the time. This was a few months ago.
Since then, I have been preparing myself for a big career change (and maybe even big location change), and have kept myself rather busy at this. But what I haven't done is gone to bed every night and wake up every morning with the "problems of the day at work" occupying my every thought. I let my circumstances change -- I no longer kept that job -- and it changed everything to do with how I looked at life. And, more importantly, how I lived my life. Now, depending on how fast this career and/or location change thing goes, perhaps I will just be replacing one problem with another (the money will get short after awhile, of course). But the change in ME, in my outlook and in my attitude is something that I wouldn't trade for that stupid old job (and those nasty old people) back.
Sometimes you just have jetison some things that you work so hard to try and preserve -- too hard -- because sometimes those things are what are over-loading you (killing you) and the only way you can get back to center is get rid of them.
In your case, I'd have no idea what those things are, separating them from the things that you truly need. My situation was simple -- because it was so clear (though it didn't seem that way at the time). Yours may be more complex...but I'd bet every penny (which aren't many these days) that YOU know what those things are.
(Sorry for the Opus.)

Never mind that! Does it work for stress? You need some of 2J's medicine and some of OT's catnip tea.
