The Hobbit Hole III - Journey to the Cross-roads!

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

You have been gone all day. :)
I finished the dishes and am watching Fred and Ginger.

Well, I've been waiting for the plumber to call...we have water leaking from somewhere...I can't figure out where. Tore a big chuck of our siding off trying to find it but it looks like the water is seeping out of slab!
But I couldn't get on line for any period of time, waiting for him to call!
Sigh.

Did he call? Where's the leak?

He never did call...
The leak seems like it's coming right up from the slab. None of the pipes are wet. Very confusing. Apparently it had been leaking for a while and we never noticed it, because of just not being out there for a long time. There is even green slime on the foundation...soaking wet!
I have no idea what to think of it.

2JM: welll, I don't recall your style of house, but I'm pretty sure that there are pipes either under your slab, or in the slab. Since you apparently have water pressure, it doesn't appear to be big now, but looking at it would be prudent.
To: 2Jedismom
Hmm...does it stop when you turn the water off at the meter?

I don't know...we turned it off briefly last night, but it was getting dark when we discovered it.
I'll check with the plumber again right now.

Just spoke with the plumber. He's coming over tomorrow to check it out, so I probably won't be on line till afterward, in case he has to call me.

Not noticeably...I don't know what to think. I can't find any running water, so I wonder if it's my drain or something? I have no idea. I'll let you know when I find out, but it's a pure mystery to me!

Good evening! Class was boring. I'm glad I've got a week off now. Time for the Easter fashionable madness to start. I have to get a haircut, find some shoes, pick out a hat, and possibly paint my nails, not to mention practice for choir and find out what the dress code is for Maundy Thursday. Plus my knee is swollen because of the shoes I wore to church yesterday.
Oh well. It was lovely today and tomorrow it will be 80 and sunny! I am going to read for a while before bed.

LOL! No. I won't float away. But I had been telling Steve that their was a leak under the sink. I thought it was under the sink, because anything I put under there warped, like paper towels and such. But we could never feel it and then I saw that slimy green stuff on the side of our foundation, just outside where our sink is in the kitchen and figured it must be seeping through the sheetrock, or causing high humidity under there, enough to warp.
I'll be glad to find out what's wrong, but I'm sure it's going to set us back...just when we were getting out of debt.
Sigh. It's very depressing.

Oh! That cheered me up! I love thinking about that. And my mom was so hysterically funny at the post office. She was so proud.

Good evening! A week off! - wow!
Good luck with Easter fashion madness! - Sounds like girl-stuff, which I was never good at... maybe that is why I am still single.
